I arrived around 11h45 am and asked one waitress if I can have a one person table. She asked me if I want to eat…I said yes so with a smile she told me I can sit where I want. After a few minutes another waitress arrives with a menu under her arm and asks what would I like without handing the menu and quite haughty. She actually seemed irritated by my presence there. I told her I would like a lemonade maybe and to see the menu for lunch. She told me it depends on what I understand by a lemonade and that the kitchen only opens at 12. I abstained from making a scene and with a smile I told her that I will order lunch and that 12 is in 8 minutes and if I can have the menu. Only then she handed me the menu and told me in a defensive tone that she only wanted me to know. I ordered a lemon pressed juice and a tartare with fries. The tartare (22€) was served pretty nice but one has to prepare it by himself( they don’t ask you if you want it prepared or not) and the “pressed juice”(4,50€) was just water mixed with way too much lemon concentrate, ice and a lemon slice. My throat was hurting after two sips. The whole experience was quite unpleasant. To be avoided...

This was my first trip to Brussels, and I was looking forward to trying the famous "Moules - Frites in the heart of Brussels.

Pop Up Sablon is on a quaint spot in a central location with a terrace and I looked forward to the experience.

We ordered Moules Marinières, Vin Blanc and Provençale, which had a tomato forward flavor.

Prior to starting our meal, we ordered olives with our drinks. The Olives were pitted but likely came from a can, as they had very little taste.

I tried all three. The portions were generous. A number of shells, I would say under 10 out of the lot, did not open. None of those three flavors really jumped out as unique or really great. I was a bit disappointed.

The fries came four sauces: Ketjep, Mayo, Dallas and 16-20. None of those did much for me, the Dallas sauce was a bit sweet for me.

Service was courteous.

In the end, the mussels were good but I could not say that I was wowed by any of...

STAY AWAY! STAFF ARE UNFRIENDLY AND UNWELCOMING!!!

Brussels is a lovely city filled with great restaurants but PØP UP Sablon IS NOT one of them.

I was trying to get their attention so I can ask for the menu but the staff behind the bar wouldn’t even look at me even though I was the only one there. I said hello/bonjour a couple of times but they would just glance and keep ignoring me.

Eventually, the staff gave me 1 menu even though I told them I’m with 5 people. I asked for more menus and she said “there’s no more” but I can clearly see three more from where I was standing. They also refused to acknowledge my brother who was asking for the toilet.

We decided not to give them our patronage. Until they learn to value and respect their customers, PØP UP Sablon does not...

Pop-Up Sablon was okay, but the prices didn’t feel justified for what we got. We sat inside and ordered a small selection of items, but the total cost was quite high, especially for the croquettes. The food took a while to arrive, and while it was enjoyable, the croquettes felt overpriced—€20 for the carbonnade croquette and €13 for the Iberian croquette. They were good, but for that price, we expected something more special. The fries were nice but still expensive at €9.00. The drinks were standard—a small glass of wine for €7.50 and a beer for €6.00. In total, we paid €55.50 for beer, wine, fries, and 12 croquettes, which seemed a lot for the portion sizes. It wasn’t a bad experience, but for the price, we expected better value. 3 stars.

This was my first time in Belgium, visiting from the United States, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment I arrived, Asiya, Steph, and Vanessa made me feel so welcome—they were attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond. The margaritas were incredible, perfectly balanced and refreshing, and the rest of the drinks were just as impressive. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, making the whole night even better. With such excellent service, amazing drinks, and delicious food, this restaurant left a lasting impression. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next visit.
