Avoid if customer service matters to you, thus is definitely NOT a place where the customer matters. Today 4 February 2018 was my second and last visit. Entered at 12:30 on Sunday and left exactly 5 min later. Me and my family preferred to be seated on the first floor rather than on the ground floor. The tables on the ground floor are rather packed and it gets noisy and crowded. On the first floor we could see one table occupied. The waiters told us that the first floor is not open yet - we asked when it would be open (remember: this is Sunday lunchtime!). Then a polite young gentleman with a mighty shrug of indifference told us it is ground floor or nothing. Given that the food is nothing exceptional and we only went to eat there to enjoy the atmosphere on the first floor, I refused and was shown the door. Young gentleman in service definitely has no interest in climbing the stairs for his customers. Good luck to the owners who allow such a degree of customer unfriendliness....A nice atmosphere with so-so cuisine, good touristy location, so go there if you can put up with being bossed by the staff... apparently the management does not rely on people coming in...
Read moreCafé Leffe in Brussels offers a decent spot to enjoy a relaxed drink or meal, especially if you’re a fan of Belgian beers. As part of the Leffe brand, it naturally boasts an impressive beer selection, with plenty of choices on tap and bottled, making it a go-to place for those looking to sample classic Belgian brews.
The real highlight here is the outdoor seating. Set in a lively area, the terrace provides a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy a drink, people-watch, and soak in the local vibe. It’s the perfect place for a casual afternoon or early evening hangout, especially on a sunny day.
The interior, however, could use a bit of an upgrade. While functional, it feels dated compared to the charm of the exterior seating. Service is generally friendly and efficient, though the overall ambiance indoors doesn’t match the appeal of the outdoor terrace.
Overall, Café Leffe is a solid choice for a laid-back drink or meal, best enjoyed outside where the surroundings elevate the experience. It’s not the most memorable spot in Brussels, but for beer lovers seeking a comfortable terrace and a good selection, it does...
Read moreWe had the worst dining experience in Brussels here. The location is beautiful, which is what drew us in. We arrived early and stayed from 11am, enjoying three beers while waiting for the kitchen to open for lunch. Unfortunately, the food was shockingly bad.
I ordered the Carbonades Flamandes à la Bière de Leffe, hoping to try a traditional Belgian dish — but it was absolutely revolting. The meat was bland and unappetizing, and the fries tasted (and smelled) like they were fried in week-old oil. It was genuinely hard to eat.
The service didn’t help either. One of the staff members, an Indian man, seemed completely unhinged — edgy, distracted, and anything but welcoming. When we went to pay, he insisted on cash in a way that felt incredibly dodgy. We refused, and only then did he reluctantly accept card.
Sadly, this was the most disappointing meal we had in Belgium. I left feeling nauseated and regretful we didn’t walk away...
