Well, how shall I put it..? It IS a nice location with lots of potential, but... If you are not a regular, I recommend being there at 21.00 sharp and throw in as many songs as possible. Because once the regulars have arrived, you're just a spectator. Your songs hardly ever come on and you have to listen to a lot of sad French songs about failed relationships sung by people who are not necessarily bad but who don't know their range (except for Vanessa, who was brilliant). The DJ will favour them over you and if you are lucky, you'll get to sing two songs by midnight. The atmosphere is amazing - I'll give them that. But it could be WAY more transparent. Everything is organised via 'karafun.fr' but you don't get to see the queue. People (regulars) who came an hour AFTER you had uploaded five titles, get to yowl at least four of their songs while you are waiting for your third pick. Don't be a dick - let the occasional guest sing. One guy told me he was coming three or four times a week. Let one-time-visitors sing!!! Your regulars have enough opportunities to perform and bore each other to death by singing the same songs over and over again. It could be a magical place where outsiders are welcomed just for one night. Go have your parties and screech your chansons all you like from Monday to Thursday. Letting others take the stage just for two nights won't hurt. 3/5 stars because they could be a lot better... but they just don't wanna be. Service was really...
Read moreWe were having a great time here - put in our songs, sang a few, we were respectful when others were singing and applauded them, we even bought the bar staff beers. We spent a lot of money here, yet the bar staff/owners were very rude. They also pushed our song requests back and back. Owner said that the tables were on rotation but we could clearly count how many requests one table before us. We chose lively, familiar songs that the patrons would enjoy, unlike other people. We made the bar lively.
One song my friend requested had started wrong - it seemed like 2 tracks were played with a 5 sec delay or so. And the staff wouldn't bother their arses resetting the song. A few songs later, one local wasn't ready for the start of the song and restarted it immediately!
It seems the bar staff just want locals there - if so, why don't they make it into a private club instead of a public bar? They obviously don't...
