Hispania Brussels — Restaurant in Brussels

Hispania Brasserie is a nice restaurant attached to the NH Collection hotel at Place du Grand Sablon. This is a nicely decorated and classy eatery specialising in Spanish cuisine. The restaurant is operated by Michelin star awarded chef Marcos Moran. Opening hours are 10am to 12am daily.

We had lunch at Hispania Brasserie during a recent visit to Brussels and enjoyed our meal here. For our mains, we tried the lamb with carrots and chicory. The dish was well prepared and delicious, the lamb tender, succulent and well complemented by the accompanying vegetables.

We also tried the salmon prepared on a bed of cauliflower puree The salmon was soft, of nice colour and quite tasty, another very good main.

Overall, we were quite pleased with our lunch at Hispania Brasserie. There are some nice restaurants at Place du Grand Sablon and we managed to try a handful during our trip. Hispania Brasserie seems to be up there with the best of the lot in this area...

The starters were amazing, but I was massively disappointed with the tenderloin entree.

The mushroom croquettes were crispy on the outside with a delicious creamy filling. The cheese selection was nice and the octopus was cooked perfectly. I also had a nice glass of temprannillo wine.

I ordered the steak tenderloin entree, but what I received was terrible. The meat was tough, inedible fat on the ends, and the sinewy fat in parts of it. Parts were hard to cut with the steak knife. There was also supposed to be mashed potatoes and mushrooms, but instead it came with new potatoes with peppers. Those were fine, but not what I ordered. And this was 48 euros 😞.

I also ordered sparkling water and received a bottle of still water, but...

I was invited to this restaurant for a dinner and honestly was so surprised! An amazing Spanish cuisine in a great location - Place du Sablon. It is a part of hotel NH I think and I have never seen before there is a restaurant! All was simply outstanding - the service, the food, the atmosphere inside is very cosy too. We were sitting outside and honestly at times it was getting load since there are busses passing by - that’s the only weak point.
