Horrible experience. First off, I specifically booked a room with seperate double beds and of course, I was given a room with one joint queen bed. We had to lug all of our bags back downstairs to request the proper room. They were only able to accommodate our request because whoever was staying in the room with the correct bed had not checked in yet. Thankfully we arrived right at check-in time or it would have been a disaster. Then, apparently the hotel makes you input your room key to power on the electricity, so the person checking us in for our room (kindly) provided a spare key so we could keep the electricity going while we were out of the room. Well, great, because the AC needs it...The AC in the room says it has the capability to go down to 19 celsius...HA! What a scam. No, the AC never fell below 24 celsius. Actually, after 2 days of keeping it powered on, it finally fell down to 23 celsius, only for the house keeper to remove the key while we were out so we had to start back at square one. Let me tell you...coming home to the AC turned off after burning in the sun all day (32 celsius aka 90 fahrenheit humidity) was the most miserable experience. It immediately sent me over the edge, as it takes at least 3 hours for the room to even cool off once the AC starts going. The room was filled with still, hot air, and I was sweating while in bed. How is this normal??? And why would you give us a spare key to keep the electricity on, only for the house keeper to remove it, as if we were being punished for leaving it on! Absolute insanity. To top it off, the hotel constantly smells like overpowering perfume with a hint of poop smell in the air. Pretty sure the perfume is used to mask the scent of the poop stains on the carpet. Which, oh yes, the carpet floor has stains all over! Another word to the wise, don't even bother waking up to try the breakfast. The look of it immediately made me lose my appetite - I promise I'm not kidding. Now, if the customer service was there, this could have made the experience a bit better. However, there was hardly anyone at the front desk the majority of the time I passed through. It was hard enough to track someone down initially to check-in to the room and then to change rooms, but if I needed help beyond that? Good luck. All in all, I highly recommend staying anywhere else BUT here. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the location. It's a great spot right near the mall/movie area, and it's easy to get around from the central location. Beyond that, beware that you will be sweating in your bed =) If you're up for it, try it out, but I highly urge you to proceed...
Read moreThis is a 4-star hotel as presented in the website. We requested a queen bed bedroom 1.5 months before our arrival. But I didn’t notice that they didn’t give me a reply. I should have double confirmed with the hotel. However, when we arrived, we just got a twin bed bedroom with two beds side by side. It’s hard for us to sleep with our child as there is gap between two beds.
We requested to change to a queen bed bedroom, however, the request could only be resolved on the next day. So, we need to pack our belongings again on the next day. We just stayed for a few nights and we needed to pack and unpack our luggage everyday….. which is really waste of time and energy.
Also, the drainage in toilet was problematic. The water couldn’t be flushed in the sink……. when you turn on the water tap for a few minutes, the water in the sink was nearly full and spill out. This happened in the first room and the toilet in the second room had a smell of the drainage which was disgusting. I didn’t report the issues to the hotel as I just stayed for 3 nights.
Quite disappointing for this 4-star hotel. The good thing was the room looked clean. I really agreed with the comment that who was serving at the reception as we met one very friendly staff at the reception when we checked out. However, no luck for us for the first two days. Very...
Read moreThis hotel really does deserve a review. I travelled solo to Brussels for a weekend and was looking locally and finding hotels were really costly. I did some research and come across this hotel and was really impressed.||||The location is great, it’s right by Starbucks and Rogier Metro. Also it’s by the main high street full of zara, hnm and other stores which leads the the grand place and other tourist areas||||The hotel staff were friendly, polite and willing to help. It was clean and large with lots of space and tables. If you’re looking for a basic budget friendly hotel this is it. It’s inline with premier inn, ibis etc. It’s literally opposite the indigo and Hilton which was a lot higher in price. ||||The room itself was a large and it was a big bed with fresh sheets. They had a large bathroom and provided you with soap, cotton buds and shower cap and fresh towels daily. Also a coffee machine with coffee, tea, sugar and I thought this was an extra touch not expected. Huge desk space if you’re there for work and it had abit go an Art Deco feel which I liked. There was a few things like marks on the wall and few stains on the carpet but not to the point it ruined the room or really was even that noticeable. ||||It was also safe and the only way in and out was with a keycard. Staff were friendly as well,...
