I went to this place today with a group of friends (10 people I guess) and I was very disappointed with the service and treatment. We went in and ordered food and drinks and while doing that the servers were very moody and unwelcoming. My food in particular (an Irish steak with truffle sauce cooked medium rare) was pretty chewy and flavourless but whatever, I ate it but shortly I started having a severe stomach ache and when I went to the restroom, there was no toilet paper. My husband complained that while clearing the table, one of the servers took his potato chips bowl even though he wasn’t done eating it. Other people had other complaints regarding the attitude and their food not being very good. I have got many other complaints but it will be too much at this point tbh. When we wanted to pay they informed us that only cash and another form of payment was accepted. They refused to accept debit card and sodexo and the server said the first time that they didn’t have it but then suddenly he came after 20 minutes and said the chef wasn’t allowing any other payment methods but now he will allow it. This situation stressed us a lot and we really just wanted to pay and leave at this point. They then allowed debit card payment. No sodexo still although it says that the restaurant accepts. Not recommended. The food is bad and the service...
Read moreBrasserie Signature in Brussels offers a delightful dining experience right on Place Jourdan, just steps from the European Quarter. I recently visited and enjoyed their mussels, and I can confidently say it’s a spot worth recommending. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, with a choice between a sunny terrace—perfect for people-watching—and stylish, Parisian-inspired interiors. The staff are attentive and genuinely friendly, making sure every guest feels comfortable and well taken care of. The mussels were fresh and generously portioned, served steaming hot with classic accompaniments. The flavors were well-balanced, and the quality of the seafood was evident in every bite. The fries were crisp and golden, making for a classic Belgian pairing. It’s clear that Brasserie Signature takes pride in sourcing quality ingredients and presenting them beautifully. Beyond the food, the overall experience was enhanced by the efficient service and lively yet relaxed ambiance. The menu features a wide variety of Belgian and French brasserie classics, so there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for seafood, steak, or a creative daily special. If you’re looking for a memorable meal in Brussels—with excellent mussels and a touch of local charm—Brasserie Signature is a...
Read more2 main problems: They brought us two bottles of tepid tap water, in a reused bottle with a loose cap, then charged us €19 for them! When we disputed they tried to insist it was mineral water and that "this is normal in Belgium" (I lived here for 3 years. It isn’t). They refused point blank to give us individual bills although we were all from different workplaces. When we disputed, the waiter became arrogant and hostile. Finally, we had a very long wait for food although we were surrounded by empty tables. Food was OK when it arrived. Moules good, frites dry and not crisp. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! especially if you are on a work trip to Brussels, if you appear like you won't make a fuss, they will try to take advantage of you. They know most people will pay up and leave rather than argue in front of colleagues.
Edit- I've just scrolled through the reviews here and not surprised to discover that (A) lots of other reviews mention the tap-water scam - one even says he saw them filling the bottles from the tap. (B) many of the "positive" reviews over recent months use almost identical phraseology and wording- almost as if they were all written by the...
