Indian Royal Spicy — Restaurant in Etterbeek

Summary: two stars are only for the friendly guy who serves and the garlic&cheese naan.

Chicken Tika Masala (that I asked with naan): The chicken was a bit too stiff and dry, but the main problem is the sauce - it’s very sweet.

I asked them for spices since it was too sweet and not spicy at all - they told me they don’t have spices. An “Indian” place that serves sweet tika masala and doesn’t have spices.

Naan was charged separately, instead of normally being an included alternative to rice.

I liked the garlic&cheese naan: a good amount of both.

I don't know where to start. An utter disaster would be an understatement. We ordered Paneer masala, chicken korma, chicken tikka masala and Biryani. Other than the Biriyani, none of them was edible. To our utter surprise, all the curries were extremely sweet. Anyone from India, on his/her first day of cooking could cook better than this. How can you add so much sugar in a curry, we put less sugar on our desserts!! As an Indian I feel bad to write about an Indian restaurant abroad. But please...

Delicious food! One of the best Indian authentic restaurants in Brussels. Their Chicken garlic, chicken tikka masala ,lamb Biryani, scampi and Malai kopta were all excellent, served with a good amount of meat and the quality of both the chicken and the lamb were noticeable, so tender and lean. Various type of nan they make. Prices and waiting times are reasonable and very competitive for the location, and the quality, also clean and hygienic.
