This was the worst meal I have ever paid for in my entire life. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and it was truly vile. The ‘chef’ had clearly bought the cheapest loaf of wholemeal bread money can buy (think the 45p “Everyday Essentials” loaf in the supermarket), toasted it for a couple minutes, added the cheapest, most tasteless slice of ham the world has ever known, slapped on a couple of cheese slices so thin that you could see through them in places, put it in a pan without going so far as to even drizzle a smidgen of oil in the pan, and called it a day. To add insult to injury, it cost around €16.50 for the double. I could do much better, for much, much cheaper, myself. Avoid this place at all costs; the food is neither good, nor cheap. This meal was dry, dull and disgusting. Apparently we were the first people to ever criticise this man’s food; perhaps the Belgian people are simply too polite.

We only spent two days in Gent but both breakfasts were enjoyed here. Their vegetarian omelet was super tasty, plenty of cheese and eggs were fluffy and soft. Salad was also lovely. Coffee was super satisfying. The waffle we shared was crispy, warm and fluffy on the inside, exactly what we were craving. The man who served us was kind and warm and really knew exactly when to come over to our table. The spanish music playing was also very nice. Great place to look at all the tourist tours visiting the fountain. Next time we're in Gent we will definitely come back!!

The food we ordered was ok. It satisfied our hunger and something extra could be appreciated. A regular sandwich shop would give you the same. The waiters were rude as to say one was looking at us in great surprise to order something he didn't seem to know they served and the other pretend to clean the terrace and one another asked us to leave at the moment because they were closing in an hour while other new clients were still coming to the terrace. I'd recommend to look for something better if you're looking for good service and higher quality meals.
