Probably not the best place in Ghent, but still doable if you're hungry and passing by. The restaurant is in center town just in front Saint Sabon cathedral, it has a terrasse outside and a cozy dinning room inside. The service is quite quick and with good attitude. The food is standard, meets the function. Too bad for the frozen fries in the country where they are supposed to be the best. Overpriced for what you get, we had for 50€ worth for 2 beefs and half bottle of water. Avoid this place if you have motion difficulties as the entrance is quite tricky and the bathrooms small, narrow and downstairs.

I visited with friends for Sunday lunch and made a reservation beforehand. We were running late, and the staff were very accommodating in holding our table. One of our group was also pregnant, and so they offered a table downstairs. The location is very central and so we expected to pay tourist prices for average food. I ordered the lasagna and was pleasantly surprised. The prices were inflated, but the dishes are reasonable, with big portions. My friends also ordered the shrimp pasta, spaghetti bolognese, mussels, and beef stew and were happy with their food as well!

This place is the worst if I could give it 0 stars I would 1st The food is mid honestly nothing exceptional and is honestly overpriced for what it is 2nd the service is absolutely horrible (and this coming from someone who has work in this industry for over 6 years) servers are straight up rude and disrespectful when it comes to explaining all the overcharges that they put on your bill 3rd and finally the over charges on the bill with out your concent i was charged for French fries that i never order and i never really tuch as well as i was charge for butter that i also never ask for as i had order the ae od the item on the menu and nothing else also i ask for tap water and it was not brought to me and when i ask for it again i was told that i need it to pay for it but it was like that in Belgium i been in Belgium for a week and this is not a common practice here When I receive the bill and ask for clarification on this extra items the server was rude and began going on and on about how they did not care and that's how it works in Belgium and I need it to pay as I asking for the manager because clearly this two girls where not going to do anything but be rude and argue with me i was told that he was not there and the only option was paying for the food that I need order I want to clarify that this is not an money issue and this was explained to the girls working there this is an issue about the morals of this restaurante and how they are fine with taking advantage of the costumes special if you are a tourist by overcharging Truly the only thing they are good...

Was told by friends that the vol-au-vent was the best in town. But what we got on our plate was terrible. Much too salty and for me not eatable. Talking to staff we got the blank "will inform the kitchen". So went with my plate to the owner behind the bar and complained. His chef tasted my dish and concurred that it was too salty. Moments later the owner came to our table and took the remaining vol-au-vent dish from my eating partner away and told us he would not charge anything. So free drinks. That was a logical decision. He explained that the dish was made the day before (!?) by a sous-chef apparently drunk from the Gentse Feesten and who did not even show up that day and that his chef can not taste everything. It's quite remarkable that a chef let his drunk sous-chef prepare a dish without even tasting it. I don't take that as an excuse. The dish was not only too salty, the chicken was dry and overcooked, the mushrooms were whole and the sauce was a thick solid cream. For me they did not want to chuck the dish away and kept selling it and would deal with eventual complaints if and as they came. This also means that one can not be sure about the quality of the food in this place. And even as we did not have to pay anything, our Sunday lunch was ruined. Next time will look for another place. There are...

Overall the food was ok but overpriced for it being quite small plates. We had few issues as well…We ordered “scampi diabolesque” and we got served the spaguetti version of it. When we asked at the end of the dinner if it was only the pasta version or the one without pasta the waiter told us that there were 2 options, told him that we ordered the non pasta one and not even apologised. We didn’t complaint when he brought it because we were not sure if it was only that option and it was kind of fine, but at least an apology…as well we had an issue with a beer (ordered blonde and got pilsner) when brought we asked if that was the blonde and the waiter said yes but we knew that wasn’t as we had the blonde before and the bottle was different. As well when we booked the table asked for when the kitchen was closing to get a time where it was fine for them and for us to not rush but at the end it was food sold out and we ended alone in the restaurant at 10pm (the booking was at 9pm) with the door opened (it was 8 degrees outside) meanwhile they were taking the rubbish out… for the future I would recommend to take in consideration this things to reserve any table as we were fine with any other time before this as well and I told so to the person taking...
