Eet- en koffiehuis Cozette — Restaurant in Ghent

Came on a busy Monday lunchtime with my 3 year old hungry son and husband. Ordered 2 lunch meals from quite a small/simple menu (shake hula and pull pork bun). Friendly server behind the till but quite stressed as he was the only waiter/barista working. After 45 minutes, I asked if they could check if our meals would be out next as we had been waiting so long and had seen barely anything come out of the kitchen during this time. The server said “it’s very busy, they had a small kitchen with barely any staff and they were doing the best they can”. Although he was polite, I found his response unacceptable. If they were struggling, then I should have been informed when I ordered that a simple eggs dish and bun could take 45 mins plus and I would have chosen to go somewhere else being a hungry pregnant woman with a hungry toddler. I didn’t see him even check the status of our order. Another 10 minutes go by and my husband decides we have had enough and want a refund. We were told our order was being plated but it still took another 10 minutes to appear. We were offered a free drink/cake which should have been offered in the first place tbh. The food was DELICIOUS but I hope future customer’s timing expectations are...

First off, the taste of my breakfast was amazing! Overnight oats with white chocolate, raspberry jam, seeds & nut and some banana bread on the side. This was expertly made 👌

Second, you can order both breakfast and lunch all day in the weekend, which is very convenient for when you want to sleep in on a Sunday, but want to have a brunch around 14h!

Lunch, the minced lamb and salad with couscous, pomegranate and mint, was also very tasteful.

Tiny remark, some more variety in the menu, e.g. something savory/salty for breakfast, could be nice, but besides that, we had a good time.
