Location: Madame Bakster is located in a lively area. It’s well designed and furnished... really hip. A lot of light wood (tables, bar, shelves, chairs, ... ), white tiles and walls, many nice objects on the shelves. The yellow lights is delighting and makes the bar cozier.
Food and drink: all the food is homemade, vegetarian (probably vegan, not sure) and really tasty! The beverages are also really good - 2 vegetable milks available: almond and hazelnut. Coffees are being served with a slice sweet popcorns, which makes the break even tastier :) the coffee tastes really nice (I am Italian, so it’s really important for me :p ). Prices a bit higher compared to the average costs...

I went there on Saturday, I got 2 pecan bars and 2 caramel chocolate bars. The girl who was working there was cleaning the bar at that moment. I ordered, she put the dirty towel on the bar and without washing her hands, she grabs the 4 bars with bare hands and put them in the box. Then she sweeps the chocolate from her fingers on her jeans and hands me the box..
I had similar experience in the past and I thought "It can happen". But I believe that the service is the face of the company when it has to do with stores like that. It is a pity to ruin all the great work that you put...
Read moreVegan, dairy-free coffee shop with breakfast and cake options. Cash free, card only. Make their own almond and hazelnut milk on site but have nut free options if you can't have nuts. Iced coffee as well as hot coffee available plus selection of teas and hot chocolate. They also make their own popcorn! Menu is in Dutch but fairly easy to follow and staff speak English. The interior is gorgeous and the coffee and milks delicious. Try the Ludo bar also, really yummy. We will be back when we return to Ghent. I believe it's open Tuesday...
