They offer very tasty noodle soups. We go there at least once a month, towards closing hours, and quite regularly my partner's favourite noodle soup is nearly gone or sold out (spicy minced meat). People literally walk in asking if there's still any portions left, it's that popular.
My personal favourite is the Peking duck noodle soup. The duck is rich in umami flavours, tender and fatty. It comes with fried tofu and a soy sauce marinated egg.
They also offer homemade dim sum, not the reheated frozen ones you can find all over town. I actually don't mind frozen dim sum, I love them enough to accept that most restaurants don't want to invest the time needed to make them fresh, and order them anyways. But here they do make them fresh, and they are really good. My favourite are their soup dumplings. The only reason I don't get them every time we go there is because the noodle soup is huge, and you don't need a starter to walk away feeling full.
We've taken friends there multiple times, who have occasionally ordered other dishes from the menu, such as pad thai, fried rice, noodles. We had a taste and honestly everything they sell is good food, we just love their noodle soups the most.
In all the times we've gone, we've never had a bad experience. The staff is always welcoming and prompt. I never expected it when we walked in that first time, because it looks like any other noodle place. But this place has grown into one of my favourite...
Read moreThe fried noodles (bami) with beef was delicious. Chiba is a large country with countless different types of fried noodles; these are Hong Kong style fried noodles: very thin, yellowy egg noodles, to which a subtle soy sauce taste is added. Price was very reasonable, and quantity huge. Note: next time I should take chicken or pork, as the taste of the beef (which was extremely tender) was slightly off.
My girlfriend ordered Noodle soup with duck; with all those delicious ramen shops in Gent, and even compared to many Chinese noodle soups in China, this one was simply too watery; the broth unfortunately really lacked in taste. This is also the case with noodle soups in Hong Kong; lamian noodle soups from Western China bursts with taste though. So I wouldn't really blame this restaurant for it; rather Hong Kong style noodle soups in general... Still, I wouldn't order this noodle...
Read moreI just ate here tonight. I brought a friend with me since I recommended this place for her to try good chinese food. The food is great no doubt about that and the price is affordable and servings are huge but I gave 2 stars because of the old chinese lady with short hair whom we paid our bill with. She was so RUDE on how she talked to us (almost impossible to understand as well) with matching annoying hand gestures plus how she handed the machine for your card. The nerve! Chinese people are notorious for being rude but you’re not in your country so don’t talk to customers like that! If that’s normal to you. I would never return here and recommend it to others because of what she did to us. I even ate here a lot and also spent my birthday with friends here but never again! I will never tolerate and accept...
