We went this Sunday, which apparently they usually don’t open but on this particular Sunday they did! So we were happy about that :) we were very excited to order some of their toasts, however since it was unusual that they were open that Sunday none of the toasts were available, only the pastries that were on display at the front. We got their pain au chocolat and personally it was a little bit too dense for me and the top flake for some reason was really hard to bite through. I do have braces though! Flat white and chocolate milk were good. Would love to go back and try their toasts and other pastries, cinnamon bun looked gooood! Edit after reply from owner: Dear Jolien, I stated above that we were happy to find out your establishment was open, if anything there was no critique about that. As we aren’t regulars and are not following your establishment on social media we were not informed about the expo and again there is absolutely no critique about it. The three stars review is based upon the drinks and the pastries we did have and definitely not based on your opening on a special occasion.

Great (filter) coffee and delicious food options. You should also try some of the bread from the bakery. Update: after many positive 5* experiences eating in, I ordered a coffee to go. This experience was unpleasant. The coffee is still great, but the Billie cup policy (recycled cups) is inconsistent. I am all for recycling and more sustainable packaging, but the system doesn’t make sense. I was charged €1 for the cup, which I get back when I give back the cup. So far so good. However, if I want a lid on my cup, I need to pay an additional €1, which I cannot get refunded when returning the lid, because the lid is “personal”. This would bring the total out of pocket amount to €6.80 for a filter coffee to go with a lid to keep the coffee warm. As I already have a Billie cup with lid at home, I am not interested in amassing more lids. So I bought the cup without the lid and, very personally, drank from the cup itself. Result: two coffee stains, cold coffee, and overall annoyed.

We have ordered sourdough bread from smorrebrod for quite some time but we had not stopped for a coffee and a bite to eat in their new location yet. So we went for their Saturday brunch, they offer a short menu of choices, open sandwich , salad, frittata and a few other options. We liked the food, coffee was great and the sumac kombucha was refreshing. The interior is a very hip, plain and Nordic. Feels like home for me :)
