I went here on a Saturday around 1145 just before the traditional lunch rush. There were only about 6 people in line when we got there, but it did start growing as we were in line as it got closer to noon. However, the person labeling soup was efficient and friendly.

There are 4 types of soup, all vegetarian. I think they rotate, but today was Broccoli, Tomato, Green Pea, or Celery. Each soup comes with 2 mini bread rolls and an apple. In European fashion, take away is 1€ less than sit in prices. Which is fine for us. We had 2 large soups to go and had a picnic down the road for 10€ flat. Those large soups are no joke! Everyone who passed us kept looking at our soups in shock.

The soup itself was pretty good. They offer free optional toppings like parsley, croutons and some kind of meatball. We asked for all of them and they really made the soup something special.

Great location right next to the river and the oldest candy-maker in Ghent (look left when facing Soup Lounge and you will see two old facades that people a taking photos of).

So: Great location, friendly staff who speak English, good food, and cheap. What more could you ask for in a high-tourist...

I have been to this establishment more than 10 times. Every time I came to this city, I came for a snack, because I really love soups. I liked the format, speed and good price. Every time I showed this city to my friends who came to visit, I took them to this cafe. But one situation happened that shocked me. I was there nearby and really wanted to go to the toilet, this cafe was right next to it. At the moment when I went in, someone was making an order and I went to the toilet. I was there for literally 1 minute, when I left, the seller brazenly approached me and asked where did you go? I was even confused, because I was shocked by the tone. I explained that I went to the toilet, I can pay for it, I really wanted to go to the toilet and went to the place where I had already been many times. But this guy did not stop there. He continued to scold me and tell me that you can’t do that. With such hatred that it amazed me. He is sick and has mental problems, a crazy russian guy works there. Although before that I thought he was normal. Be careful if you suddenly decide to go there to use the toilet. The...

It's the best place to grab your tasty soup when you don't feel like that hungry. It's actually very popular and you can sit upstairs where you can get a nice view.

Don't be deceived by the name of this place by thinking they only serve soup. They actually offer sandwiches and 2 types of desserts (brownies and fruitsalad) as well. If you are going to order the soup, you just need to tell the staff about size of the portion (kids, medium or large), type of soup (cauliflower, tomatoe, spinach, or mushroom) and which toppings you want. It actually comes with bread and apple.

It's very delicious so I definitely recommend eating here but you can always...

If you are looking for a simple and healthy lunch break, I would definitely recommend going there. I liked the idea itself. Gosh! I wish we would have something similar in my city. It is simple, healthy and very relaxing! The person, who opened it, is a genius! You have a choice of 4 flavours. They have a big wooden signs with main vegetables on menu wall. You can add some extras like, chicken pops, cheese, parsley, croutons. The soup was very nice with a good balance of salt / taste. The lady at the counter was super friendly. She explained to me how it works and recommended some extras. You can go upstairs and take a spot by the window. Will definitely go again.

€7 for a medium bowl of soup, bread, and an orange was very good value for a meal. We passed it whilst on a walking tour and the weather outside was so cold, we thought we would come back later to enjoy some warm soup, and it did its job. It was very tasty, hot, and a substantial portion. I had the red pepper soup, my wife had the cauliflower soup, we both preferred the red pepper ones but they were both still nice. There wasn’t a queue when we went in, and it was served to us within a minute. Also you can sit upstairs for a good view outside.
