We stayed at Hotel Harmony for 3 nights in March 2025 as our first stop during a week-long trip to Belgium & The Netherlands. We almost passed on this hotel in favor of someplace less expensive, but we are very glad we did not. The rooms were large and offered plenty of space for storage. The bathrooms were spacious as well, although the only thing separating it from the rest of the room was a curtain (the toilet had a door that fully closed). We had a king-sized bed which was very much welcome after long days of walking & sightseeing. ||The location is excellent, right on the river and close to many restaurants. While it is further from the main train station than other options, the light rail has stops within a 10 min walk which connect to the the main station. ||The staff was excellent as well. They offered to make dinner reservations for us, as well as helping us to understand our best options for an early morning train to Amsterdam on our final day. ||This hotel does offer a buffet breakfast, with made-to-order options such as omelettes & waffles available as well. This was included in our room and was well worth it, as we didn't see too many options open before 10am in the area. ||We would highly recommend Hotel Harmony to anyone staying in Ghent. The hotel perfectly matched the vibe of the city and was a great home base for the start of our trip. We might suggest other options if you have a car and plan to drive frequently as this hotel (and any others nearby) are in the center of the Old Town with narrow streets and lots of pedestrians / cyclists. We did not have a car, so this location was...
Read moreThe room we were given was in an outbuilding at the back of the hotel. This means that there was no view. The lift leading up to the room was malfunctioning. There is a metal staircase outside the room, this is very loud when people use it and there is no noise protection in the room, so we did not get any sleep. The poor noise isolation means that you can also hear the street outside, and the people above you. The drains need unblocking, I saw this mentioned in other reviews, it appears to still be an issue as the sink drained slowly and we could hear the blockage through the bath. There was only 1 plug socket free which was inconvenient as it was by the coffee maker. The room and outside areas were outdated and in need of refurbishment with a lot of visible damage. There was no privacy in the bathroom because one of the glass doors has been smashed (presumably by a previous guest) and had not been replaced. The visible damages make the room feel dirty. The electricity in our room had issues which meant the wifi kept dropping out, and at one point the TV came on loudly in the middle of the night which woke me up when I did finally manage to get to sleep. One staff member was particularly unpleasant to us but the other two we spoke to were very friendly and helpful, and the location is also good which is why I am not rating as 1 star. The room was GBP 270.00 which I feel is expensive for the...
Read more🏩 One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at - harmonious indeed! 📍A very charming boutique hotel right by the river, unbeatable location
The attention from the whole team was stellar from prior to the stay and during. Very professional and welcoming, much appreciated especially as a solo traveller.
Stylishly decorated and elegant hotel with different buildings. My room 140 on then fourth ;) floor had amazing views of the river and main "towers" of Ghent. The view was simply stunning!
🛌🏻 The room itself was luxurious and modern - massive bed, two types of pillows for your comfort, modern lights, tea and coffee facilities, complimentary water, complimentary slippers, safe, big TV and more. The bathroom was also super modern not to mention the "massage" toilet.
🍳 Breakfast was delightful, again one of the best in terms of quality and variety. Cured meats and cheeses, salmon tzatziki, pancake maker, cereal, muesli, flapjack, loads of fruit and healthy options, nice juices and more. You can order a main made-to-order and the omelette was absolutely divine!
Had such a harmonious stay in...
