I review food regularly and I'm a curryholic!

I don't judge the food by the environmental conditions as I've eaten all around the world

I ordered Chilly Chicken as my starter #12 Fried chicken and chilli on a bed of fresh lettuce ...

To my amazement I have a plate presented with no lettuce and what I can only suggest as chicken tikka chicken pieces reheated with chilli sauce....

Complete with bits of bone!

Oh and and pools of oil see photos

There was onion, bell pepper and a Raita dip

Main course sounded nice

#62 King Prawn Sizzler A medley dish, marinated shrimps, served with rice, lentil sauce, mint sauce and warm vegetables......

The prawns were presented in breadcrumbs and incinerated..... Inedible chewy and tasteless, I imagine similar to an elastic band!

There was no sign of marinade happening

Vegetables uncooked and left to self cook on the cast iron skillet...

Lentil sauce is more like a coriander and tofu side, no texture or flavour other than coriander

No Mint Sauce?

Rice was okay tasting of Cardomon, but anyone can cook rice, can't they?

Overall experience was very disappointing

I/we have been to this restaurant many times in the past, and have always highly rated it and recommend it to friends...

But our last experience (Sunday 27/08/23), like previously said.... "Other reviews/pictures give a better impression than our experience; perhaps we visited on a bad night. Poppadoms were stale and served with a tiiiiny pot of mango sauce, garlic naan was so dry is was crisp (shouldn’t naan be soft and fluffy?)." (Sic)

Plate presentation!!!, no garnish or salad, very disappointing...

Actual starters & mains were just as poor, the mixed grill starter seemed like a mix of off-cuts deep fried and the chicken vindaloo for the main, well let's not go there...!!!

The whole presentation of the restaurant has taken a serious dive south, tables not cleared, at one point we were the only ones in the restaurant, and tables from previous guests who had left at least an hour earlier, were still not cleared...

Regarding the overall experience, we wasted our money...

I appreciate that it is now under new management, but at least get the basics right...

I give a 2 star to the waitress for trying... for the rest I...

Horrible service! My family visited Gent and were celebrating my daughter's 7th birthday. She wanted to visit an Indian restaurant and so here we are. First off, there is no greeting, not even a smile from the Waitress. Ok fine. we find a seat and the waitress almost threw the menu on the table. We find what we wanted from the Menu, waitress taking orders now, I ask a recommendation from the kitchen, and she says ''Do you guys need more time'' and starts leaving. Very rude. That is when we left the restaurant. The worst part was yet to come, as we were leaving the restaurant the same waitress got annoyed and starts abusing my wife, even while my daughter was with her. I would have got into an argument, except I didn't want this to ruin our daughter's Birthday. We went to the nearby Himalaya restaurant and enjoyed the food. It was my worst experience ever in...
