We arrived around 12, after taking our orders, we waited for about 45 minutes without any food or news. After we asked for some update, it turned out the chef took the name of the restaurant quite literally (Spoorloos in Dutch means gone missing). Apparently the chef ran of, at first he was just wandering around in the toilet, to run away half an hour later.
After an hour, we got our first bit of food, cooked by the owner. The food was ok, nothing out of the ordinary.
It must have been a shock for the staff too, since they couldn't really give much meaningful feedback, besides complaining about how they have no idea how to deal with it. Some more proactive stance would've gained them more compassion.
There was also a dog running free, which came running around our feet, and ran on the couches. At a certain point I had to even push him away because he wanted to eat my plate. Staff didn't really see the problem and called the dog back once, so he could go on to bother other guests.
