Italmangia PastaBar Dolci Pizza e Focacceria — Restaurant in Ghent

We ended up here after passing by many times. It is a good place for a tasty Italian bite. We had the arancini, fried pizza en pizza slice. Afterwards I ordered some sweets. Including drinks we did not spend more than 25 euro. Prices are extremely low. I had the pizza slice, which ended up being a small pizza actually. It was value for money, good quality ingrediënts. Not the best pizza dough I ever had, but also that's reasonable at this price point. It was waaaaay better than many of the fast food pizza chains out there. The sweets I got were ok. I had 2 cannoli one with pistacchio and one with ricotta. I am quite sure the filling of the second one was not actually ricotta. So I wouldn't but that one again. What I would buy again is the Bignè pistacchio filled with whipped cream. It was very tasty. The cream inside was coloured with food colouring, but so are many of the foods we buy in the supermarket. If you need a quick lunch, but want to make sure you get something tasty, this is the place. I have eaten both pasta and focaccia here and both are outstanding.

This is not a restaurant but a quick takeaway place, but the quality of the food is amazing. The focaccia was so flavorful and fresh, with a generous amount of toppings as well. The pasta is way better than most takeaway pasta places and is also super cheap for quite large portion sizes.

Unfortunately, one of the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten for a while! I come from Italy, so I have a decent experience and understanding of how a pizza should look and taste like. It was just bad. The place was also so dirty, there were tissues and receipts everywhere! The waiter didn’t even bother to pick up the previous plates, glasses, or clean the tables. The design was awful too!
