Café Parti — Restaurant in Ghent

The food is good, no doubt about it - but one can still feel disappointed when tucked away in a gloomy corner despite having made a reservation in time. Instead of an empathetic response to this diasapointment, we are met with arrogance ['bad luck, sir'] - and in all fairness, this is not how you would expect to be treated in such a nice restaurant. So, here is the dilemma; the food is good [not exceptional, just good], and if we would have been part of the incrowd, we would have appreciated it just a bit more. Besides being tucked away, we had to wait exceptionally long before the lunch was served. So, all in all not a positive experience, which is too bad, because it's not a bad place after all. Waited a long time for posting this, but after another horrible experience in another restaurant with a rude reaction from the staff, I just need it of my chest. Our bottle of sparkling water turned out to be vinegar. Apparently it was they put the bottle they use to clean without a label with the other bottles. The taste was horrible but things could have been far more worse if there was another cleaning product in the bottle. We barely got apologies, the staff found it rather funny. No coffee or drinks as a little apologie to the customer. Mistakes happen, but at least be humble enough to apologise in a decent way to...

Friendly staff and generous cocktails. Long wait times between courses even though the restaurant was only half full. The food is decent overall but overpriced. I had perfectly tender and well-seasoned white asparagus as a starter. The sauce in the vaunted thai fish stew (34EUR) had a generic taste that I associate with low-quality thai curry paste. The vegetables were overcooked and the seafood dry, chewy and flavorless. The whole of the plate was sprinkled with a disturbing amount of raw soy sprouts. We did not stay...
