London Brasserie — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

Mussels on the handwritten board, but when you order them, they don´t have them. (Maybe they should take them off the board then....?) Salmon steak on the menu, but when you order it, they say it´s mainly other stuff, just a tiny piece of salmon. Ok, then... Canada dry on the menu, but when you order it, they only have tonic. Then you order a fish soup, and you get a tiny, overpriced plate with hard, white bread only. Then you need to actually go to the bar to ask for a spoon, cause all you got was a knife and fork. Then you get a spoon, without a smile or even a hint of an apology. Should have known it´s not a good idea to eat at a place called "London". Give this place a miss. Oh, en voor de Nederlandstaligen: denk maar niet dat men ook maar een woord Nederlands kan, en al zeker niet...

Bad experience. Even though the waitress had seen and acknowledged me on the sunny terrace, it took her still some 20 minutes to actually take my order. I ordered the fish and chips which is advertised as coming with home-made tartar sauce and a salad. The dish I was served had one piece of deep fried fish lying on a pile of chips. The tartar sauce was served in the tiniest of little paper cups, just enough to fill my hollow teeth. For the ‘salad’ as well they managed to find the smallest cup. When I asked for some mayonnaise to go with the chips the waiter looked at me as if he heard this for the first time. No surprise that also the mayonnaise came in a minute little paper cup. And then it took ages for the bill to arrive so I finally went inside to pay there. Won’t be...

One of the bartenders is rude and she accused me and my friend of not paying for a drink even though just a few minutes before I gave her the money. The music is so loud you can't hear anything people say. There are also issues with payments. The bartender told me there is a limit for card payments and that I had to pay by cash, but the next customer who also just ordered a drink had no problem with paying by card. When I was trying to order another drink and I prepared the exact amount in coins (including many 5 and 10 cent coins), the bartender refused to accept it. This is ridiculous! If I want to I should be able to pay for anything even exclusively with small value coins as it is still a legal payment method. This place is one of many traps at...
