BARBÓÉK 📚 — Restaurant in Leuven

Th review below is what i wrote when i came there. Since the owner has reacher out and apologised for what happened and also took action which i find extremely commandable. I haven't gone back yet, but I definitely will because they really made me feel heard in the problem and proved that they care a lot about costumer satisfaction!

I went here today after a horrible day because a friend recommended this place. After drinking the worst homemade ice tea of my life and sharing the next drink (a coca cola) with my partner, we were just sitting and studying for about 15 minutes. When the lady (short blonde hair) came to ask us if we wanted something else, we said 'no thank you, not for a little bit' indicating that we were going to buy more drinks in a bit, but like I said we had literally just finished our last drink. She then said 'if you're not going to have more drinks, you have to leave. Be happy I let you guys sit here for so long'. Never have I been treated so rudely in my life. I told her 'we will be leaving then' to which she replied in an annoyed manner 'I'm sure you can understand'. The staff at the museum itself is very nice and I've heard the museum itself is wonderful. Be careful when making an opinion based on the reviews because the positives ones appear to be about the rooftop bar as well and we were in the coffee bar at the bottom. Edit: Had a chat with the owner and cleared up a lot of my concerns. They took quick and effective communication and really made feelings and concerns heard. Will try again to see how much the atmosphere improved.

Wanted to study here with my partner but was asked to leave as i didn't hit the required amount of drinks an hour for me to be able to sit here. I had drank 3 drinks over the course of an hour and half. And I should be happy bc I was allowed to sit there and use the electricity. I've looked around and noticed on tripadvisor the same reviews as mine and that she is creating an environment that's just about getting as many people through the door. It ruins a cozy spot and makes it feel like a cashgrab. Never...

Nice first impression, but then in one occasion I was asked a few times if I wanted to buy more by a kinda hostile women from the staff (blond short straight hair). I didn't care and put my headphones back on. I assumed she was cranky, but then a friend comment a few days ago the same happened to her, and she did got very uncomfortable. She posted her complaint and Barbóék requested it to be erased. Casually, we are both not Belgians. Free for interpretation. Just narrating events...
