Dokteur — Restaurant in Leuven

At first, both owners seem kind. However, their behaviour is very changeable. For instance, when visiting often, it is normal to give some constructive feedback. They find this very difficult to accept and become angry easily. They flirt with and talk about young lady guests a lot (considering this place is popular among young people this happens a lot). When I visited with a young female friend from Turkey and we were sitting at the counter, she fell victim to this unasked for behaviour. This is extremely unprofessional. It happened again with another friend. Nowadays, it is easy to find good quality wine at a reasonable price (especially with so many suppliers advising on this topic). Avoid their wine: it is of very poor quality. Food options too limited. One has to pay either cash or by payconiq, no cards accepted, which is strange.

We did submit a review on Tripadvisor too. The owners wrongfully very quickly replied we are spreading lies. It is sad people can get so frustrated they do not address substantive concerns (bad wine, flirting, inappropriate behaviour etc), and that they prefer to post lies about customers (we are welcome everywhere). It proves the first point we made. Plenty of other very nice bars around with appropriate behaviour and nice drinks (Moorineken, Bar Louis, Bardot, Bar Vista,....). If you want a peaceful night without any drama, go to those places or one of the other nice...

Went here a few weeks ago to drink with someone. The place looks nice but personally are the tables too small and too much tables close to each other. Either it was just the people beside us but you can hear very well what the people beside you say which makes it difficult to hear what your companion has to say. Also was the music a tad bit too loud. Beside this were the prices a bit too high for...

Onder de vorige eigenaars was dit een fantastische bar. Vandaag, dik jaar later, blijft daar helaas niets van over. Weg sfeer om het zo te zeggen.

De authentieke sfeer trekt op niets meer. Het personeel heeft geen charme en ziet het niet. De eigenaar heeft niet half de charme van de vorige eigenaars en geeft je een ongemakkelijk gevoel.

De "nieuwe" bemeubeling heeft de look van een tea-room aan de kust in 1997.

Binnen hing een zeer zeure geur. Precies of er vuile vodden al weken liggen te stikken. Niet uit te houden. Het dokteur concept is op de kaart hier en daar nog merkbaar maar de nieuwe uitbaters komen niet meer met ideeën. In tegendeel het glijdt steeds verder af van 't concept. De kaart is een mik mak geworden.

Wat ooit een gezellig terras was is nu een vreselijk oubollig afgezet stukje. Mogelijks/hopelijk is dit enkel voor de winter. Maar dan nog is het een veel te vies plekje met die ouderwetse kussens en veel teveel tafels dicht op elkaar.

De reviews van het laatste jaar spreken ook boekdelen. Voortdurend excuses van eigenaar of het is de schuld van iets / iemand anders.

Eerlijk : het trekt gewoon op niets meer. Ik ben hier jaren graag geweest maar hier zien ze mij...
