Savoury( Mu Thai LEUVEN) — Restaurant in Leuven

Food is all right, the service is terrible! It’s the restaurant with the worst service I have ever seen in Leuven. The waiters are super busy and don’t take us order, we have asked the drink for 3 times and finally get us drink. One of their female waiter is super rude. We order shrimps and clams, the shrimp comes unpeeled, fine. And they don’t give any bowls to put shells away！In the end, we have to go to the kitchen to take the bowls by ourselves. We are with 6, and we ask for chopsticks, they only give us two chopsticks and never comes anymore. And there is no towels even if you are forced to use hand to eat food! I order a main food, it comes with a dish without rice,noodles, or fries, and you called it a main dish? It can’t even feed a kid full with the highly charged price. My friend ordered some food with rice, the portion of rice is also extremely small! The waiters said it’s for 2, but after a few scoop the rice is all gone. Last but not least, they add a lot of MSG in the food which you can taste it. It’s funny all the customers have to compete to get their orders, totally chaos… If you are expecting a nice restaurant with good service, NEVER NEVER come...

The sushi is good but not great. We chose the lucky menu (culinary tasting menu) which consists of 8 dishes. The first 4 dishes came very quickly after one another. When taking the last bite the new dish was presented and when the 6th dish came, we didn't finish the 5th one yet so they just left both dishes on the table. But then after the 7th dish they forgot how many and which dishes we already got so we had to wait at least a half hour for the last dish and only because we asked for it. Each dish was presented without any info. However they asked us a lot if we were enjoying the food and they really wanted us to have a nice experience. Staff is very friendly. Seating is cosy with plants in between tables so you're a bit secluded from others. The restaurant smells like a public swimming pool (chlorine) which is a weird smell for a restaurant but when you're there 5 minutes you filter...

The waiting times are simply unacceptable. We ordered 2 simple dishes for takeout because we didn't have a lot of time. We were told it would take 20 minutes for our food to be ready and we could wait on the terrace.

While waiting we noticed that the other customers were also getting their food and even drinks very slowly. The people next to us had to wait 15 minutes to even get so much as a menu and I saw them struggling to get the servers' attention.

After waiting for an hour we were informed our food was still not ready so we announced that we would be leaving. The waitress told us we should wait a little longer so the boss could offer us a gift voucher. We declined as we will not be returning.

It's a shame this restaurant cannot get their waiting times sorted out, because we did enjoy the food...
