I dined here with 4 colleagues this evening. The food tasted good, but the experience and service was very poor.
We sat outside.
Four of us ordered a starter, chicken bites. Three of us ordered a side bao bun. One ordered ramen.
We waited about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The ramen and an order of chicken bites were missing. The waiter was reminded of this when the food arrived. He was reminded 10 minutes later, when three of us had finished our meal.
One colleague entered the restaurant to remind the waiter of the missing food and the response was “yes”. There was no sense of urgency and no apology for the delay.
The ramen arrived after 40 minutes. The chicken bites did not. We were making fun of the situation, but we all thought the same thing “terrible service”. What made the waiting worse were the very uncomfortable seats made of metal with no cushions. When the ramen was finished we decided to leave.
The waiter was coming to the door with the food after about 50 minutes, but we had entered the restaurant to pay already. My colleague refused the food, telling the waiter it took too long and everyone was long finished their food. The waiter just said OK and there was no apology.
We paid for what we received separately. Of course we left no tip, because the service and attitude were far below the level expected. At the very least, my colleague should not have been charged, which was a lemonade and a chicken bao bun. He should have received an apology.
Management really needs to inform staff of what is acceptable service. This was not acceptable service. I...
Read moreI visited this restaurant twice, hoping that my initial experience was just a fluke given the numerous positive reviews. Unfortunately, it was not. Both times, I was served probably the worst ramen I've ever had.
The tonkatsu was bland and soggy, and the meat was dry. The duck was completely overcooked, excessively salty, paper-thin slices that were nothing like the pictures, served cold on the ramen. Each time, the noodles were overcooked, and the egg was served cold. For the price they charge, is it really that difficult to make a quick poached egg? Even the spring onions tasted like they had been sliced days ago and left to dry in an open container in the fridge.
The only redeeming factor was the broth, which was pretty good one out of the two times. However, you can easily find better at any of the many other restaurants nearby. In fact, I believe you'd find comparable quality from a nicer, fancier instant ramen for 3-4€ from the Asian grocery stores not too far away.
The service was weak, with only a single server who we had to get up to call from the back. To top it off, there were signs begging for tips at the payment counter. The atmosphere was just okay.
For the price, and with the plentiful food offerings of the city, I felt...
Read moreWe went there for lunch and the small, cute stylish place was really quiet. Apparently it's the busiest in the evening. I had the only vegetarian ramen noodles option with a side order of kimchi and my partner had the Chef's special. Our food arrived quickly but mind that we were the only customers at that time. The veggie is in a soft not too salty miso flavored broth with chewy noodles, funghi, red onion, green peas, soft tofu, scalions, semi runny egg and the spicy fermented vegetables which we're mild spicy-sour. I really liked the tofu, it almost breaks apart when you try to pick it up. I would have liked that everything in my ramen had the same temperature, some ingredients were still cold but fresh. Also got the Japanese lemonade 'ramune' and it came in a funky shaped bottle with a whale on it and a marble in it. The taste is like Sprite but softer. The service was friendly but the kitchen was pretty loud, since it's an open kitchen concept. U are offered a bib because of all the broth and the you can eat with chopsticks and an...
