First meal in Belgium and an awful start. None local unfriendly restaurant. The middle age guy waiter was rude, irritated and annoyed when we can't communicate in French. Putting the menus on the table and went off right away. Coming back in 2 minutes to check on our order which we were not ready. Frowning away again when he asked us whether we need to order any drink when we said we don't need. Looking annoyed throughout our encounter with him. Another waitress was able to speak English but did not even bother to serve us, not engaging with anyone. Just came and ask whether we wish to order any drink, again. After serving food, he came and ask us, 'good?' and turned his back right away. Beef ball sauce was too sour and beef stew was not so tender.
However I would like to commend a local lady who was very friendly. She knew we were in a difficult situation and offered to help to translate if we need to. She even greeted me again before I left the restaurant. Appreciate her...
Hello everyone,
We ordered a dish of Liège dumplings. We pointed out to the waitress that the meatballs were completely raw. We were told that this was normal. We heard that other customers were complaining. We went to see the waitress again, saying that the dumplings were inedible. She was very haughty. It was at this point that the cook, who is also the owner of the brasserie, came to physically and morally assault us. Unacceptable and disproportionate behavior. Criticism makes you grow if you have two big ears, rather than a big ego. An establishment to be avoided altogether.
Hallo allemaal,
Read moreBest “Boulet Liégeois” in town! Hands down the best boulet sauce Liégeois in town! I’ve often tried to perfect typical Belgian recipes such as “vol-au-vent”, “carbonnades flamandes”, “American“… and also the boulet Liégeois but have never been able to match or perfect their recipe! The meat is cooked to perfection, the sauce is divine, the fries match well with the dish as they don’t become soggy in the sauce… The atmosphere is typical, the service is friendly and efficient. It’s not somewhere I would go to every day but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an...
