I would give 0 stars. The service we received as a group was disrespectful and unprofessional. We were not served in terms of taking orders, they simply gave us a piece of paper and motioned to us to write our orders down. I understand that they may not speak English/Dutch, but it should be done more professionally than this. At least provide a Dutch/English menu.
The most upsetting/shocking thing is that my vegetarian friend was given a soup with chicken in it. Despite the menu telling us in French that it contained no meat.
I noticed that a couple received their food before us, but we arrived 30 minutes before them. Most strange indeed. The restaurant was no way near full, with only a few occupied tables.
They place us near the window so it looks like they are serving lots of customers.
The food came out in batches, some plates 5 minutes apart. This meant that we were waiting for all the food for a collective 10-15 minutes.
The rice was cold and sticking together, very bland and unpleasant to chew. It’s such a shame because the chop suey chicken sauce and plate was quite tasty.
To recap, unprofessional service, a long wait and sub par food. Cold rice and an unpleasant feeling all the way through.
Edit: turns out that they actually had a server who understood and speaks dutch. So they had the opportunity to serve us normally. We learnt this as we were waiting to pay. More insult to injury.
I recommend you steer clear of this place, there are many other restaurants in the area which deserve your...
Read moreSurprised at how bad a Chinese delivery/takeout restaurant can be. And how utterly strange the experience was. The decor is well made, but very dated, of a vintage quality, frozen in time since the 80s
And some of the worst takeout Chinese I've ever eaten. Battered shrimp that is more batter than shrimp, dripping with grease and leaving that awful film in your mouth. The shrimp itself tiny and tough, as if frozen and thawed... Several times. Pickled cabbage that is more sugar and straight white vinegar than any pickle should be. Rice that is rough, flavourless and powdery at the same time.
All in all, you're better off getting a modern premade 'asian' microwave meal from a grocery store than the food here.
Best part of the meal, and the only part we finished, ended up being the...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing restaurant. The person who served us was very kind, and made us feel really welcome into the restaurant. And for the food, I had some crispy chicken and noodle, which not only tasted great, but also held it's crispiness for about 30min ! Finally the setting really enhanced the experience with the traditional decor, furniture and details. All in all, I'd really recommend this restaurant, which will guarantee you a pleasant...
