We were greeted by friendly but wildly busy waiters, clearly auditioning for a speed-walking competition. The restaurant was almost full, so there was a bit of a wait for our food. When the steak finally arrived, well… let’s just say it had been through some things. Ordered medium, it came out so overcooked it could have been a chew toy. But hats off to the staff—they quickly replaced it with a new one. Unfortunately, this steak went too far in the opposite direction; its center was raw and cold enough to remind us that winter is coming. Apparently, the art of cooking a thick steak is a delicate one, and the 20-years-experienced chef must’ve had the night off.
The fries, though, were a beacon of hope—golden, crispy perfection. And our waiter? A gem! Patient, helpful, and excellent at explaining things in English.
Now, for the twist: in 2024, Henri’s still doesn’t accept card payments. Yes, you read that right. Instead, we had to leave the cozy 68-year-old establishment and go on a scavenger hunt for an ATM. A little modernization wouldn't hurt, Henri.
