Been looking forward to visiting this restaurant but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. We went on a Friday night for the first service as a party of two, and while I had high hopes, the evening fell short in many ways.
The food was average at best—nothing stood out. The kimchi was particularly awful: overly salty, excessively vinegary, and completely inedible. We couldn't finish it. Paying 17 EUR for five small carrots with some ginger felt outrageous, especially since no explanation or context was provided about the dishes—just the names were mentioned. Describing the dish when serving adds to the experience in my opinion.
As for the wine, I had to actively ask about their concept, only to be told, “French.” What does that even mean? It’s so vague. When I then asked for a strong, tannic wine, like a Côte du Rhône, Syrah-Grenache or Carignan or similar, the suggestion I received was… a Bordeaux?? It felt like there was no real understanding of their wine list or what I was asking for.
On top of all this, both of us fell ill the next day with symptoms that were clearly foodborne. Given that we hadn’t seen each other in a long time and ate nothing else that evening, it’s undeniable that the food here caused it.
For a total of 160 EUR, I expected far better—better food, better service, and better care. Unfortunately, this seems to reflect a growing trend in Brussels: high prices for minimal service and average food.
The venue itself is cool, and the concept has a lot of potential, but the execution just isn’t there. This being said I only went once (And won’t go again) but maybe it was just one bad experience. Considering the reviews I am guessing this might be isolated, but I’d hope this would be taken into consideration to make the experience smoother for the...
Read moreThe food was good with balanced flavours, although dishes like roasted patatoes with cream are difficult to count as a full-blown vegetarian dish. I have been to many restaurants of this type and vibe, and I must say that I am shocked by how unfriendly and unorganised the staff was. My girlfriend and I were 20 min late because of my train having a delay, for which I notified the staff by phone. Without any discussion or welcoming we are brought to two places at the bar instead of a table at the front of the restaurant. Not really what we signed up for. In general the waitress was unfriendly and not interested in whether we were having a good time in the restaurant or not. We received two dishes at first without bread; no one was available to ask for bread or more drinks at the back of the restaurant. The waiter did noticed we had no bread when bringing our other dishes, thereafter not bringing it anyway for our next dishes. We ordered one dessert to share, by asking it two times to two different people of the staff, but after half an hour of waiting we gave up. I was amazed when I paid that this restaurant dares to charge 8,5 eu per person for 'service'. Terrible dining experience, never coming again or...
Read moreWorst service I ever witnessed. My friend - a medical surgeon - booked the restaurant at 7.45pm. She was busy IN SURGERY the entire day so clearly it was impossible to respond to the repeated calls from the restaurant; we decided to show up a bit earlier (7.30pm) to make sure the restaurant knew we were coming. At this point the situation became ridiculous. The head of staff personally SCOLDED my friend for not picking up the phone and that she’d given up the table already due to her “carelessness” (while literally busy saving lives…). Then, when I interjected saying that there was no reason to behave like this and that it was alright if the table wasn’t available, she looked at me and said “Shut up, I’m not talking to you”. Well, we’re clearly not ever going to dine here. Zero empathy, authoritarian behavior, and zero customer service. Avoid...
