Google reviews are very useful... but should be taken with a pinch of salt, as this case demonstrates. 15 years ago, it was a real challenge to find a pizza half as good as what you get at La Molisana. There are more options now but I would definitely place La Molisana among the good ones. Rankings and comparisons are a waste of time, what matters is whether you'll enjoy your time in a given restaurant, and I have enjoyed every time I have eaten there (which is also why I have come back several times). Every time, the service was absolutely lovely, kind Italian staff who were always ready to help, especially with regard to children. I have also ordered to take away and it was fine too. So I really don't understand the negative reviews, many of which sound completely surreal. It makes me wonder who is so easily ready to smear the reputation of a business, when the times are difficult and many are struggling. Anyway, this review isn't meant to rectify all the wrongs in the universe. The point really was to say that yes, at La Molisana you'll get a nice pizza (I haven't tried the pasta) made with a proper dough in a proper oven, and that yes, you'll most probably be treated well. Whether the prices are okay for you, judge by yourself - I don't think they are very different from other good pizza places in Brussels. Ah and the location and premises are great. As far as I am concerned, it's all very...
Read moreInsulted, disappointed, please avoid. This rest was recently refurbished. I ordered a pizza and was very disappointed with the quality and presentation. Uncooked olives of the worst quality were put onto the pizza. I complained politely about the olives. I was not apologised too, an alternative was not offered. The olives were removed from a steadily cooling pizza. I was not satisfied and complained to the waiter who walked away while I was talking to him.....politely! I eventually came back, the pizza was barely warm and I told him that I was still talking to him. I said it was not correct to walk away. He told me aggressively "if you don't want the pizza don't eat it". I asked for the manager. I told him I was local and interested in the seeing the new refurbished restaurant. I told him I was disappointed with the waiter. He told me, "he doesn't speak French". I said that we had spoken in English. I explained my disappointment with the pizza and I told him I would pay for my half drunk beer. The manager said "but you've eaten the pizza". I had barely eaten 1/8 of it. I told him, if I paid , I would never come again and would write a review. No action was taken. I paid in full. This is a sorry excuse for a restaurant and no way to treat a customer. Avoid...
Read moreWe went to this place 4 times and it was always delicious, tasty, we were also glad for the gluten free options. We went back there today, and I received a burnt/carbonised pizza, the dough was black, tasted burnt. I went to the waiters that sent me to tell the boss about it, and he did not apologise, talked in a very rude way, and did not offer to make a new pizza nor even a discount... The owner scared me so I went back to my place with my pizza and scraped the ingredients off of it so I could eat a bit... 22 euros for a burnt pizza and rudeness? We're not going back there. The waiters are very...
