Zeyya — Restaurant in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode - Sint-Joost-ten-Node

The staff are friendly , but the quality of service is substandard. I ordered anchovies as a snack, when I ordered a drink. My next order was a selection of starters. I stated that I specifically came because a few of the starters sounded really good. I ordered the octopus and the crispy lamb, and requested the lamb 15 min after the octopus . I also ordered two sauces with fries and a salad. I mentioned that my first order had included anchovies to which the reply was - it’s being prepared. I finally receive my anchovies ( bland, no salt, dry, unimaginative , after I had finished the octopus. The truffle sauce arrives with my fries, but after asking as to the ETA of the second , waiter heads to the kitchen. Second sauce arrives when my fries are cold and not edible. Crispy lamb finally arrives ( also after asking when it will arrive), about 1 hour later . Lamb with phyllo pastry to make it crispy- how totally predictable and unimaginative. My first time in Brussels and we’re staying in the Liman hotel. My brothers and I arrived late into the evening and the Zeyya restaurant is open until 11pm. We decided to pop down as we got 10% off in addition to our stay.

This restaurant did not disappoint in the slightest. The environment is clean, modern and sleek and all the staff are super welcoming and professional.

The cocktails are superb, the Zeyya Mahatan was tasty and complex. The octopus was stunning, perfectly cooked and all the flavours worked harmoniously. The lobster tail was delicate and decadent balanced with rich, creamy pasta. The beef fillet was exceptional, smoky, charred, and pink in the middle. Finally the crème catalane was light, floral, and a splendid way to finish of a perfect first evening here...
