Le Pain Quotidien - Departure Hall — Restaurant in Zaventem

I was extremely shocked and disappointed in the staff’s unprofessional and rude behavior at Le Pain Quotidien at Brussels Airport Zaventem. My little sister and I were on FaceTime whilst waiting in the queue and one of the staff members rudely told us “I hope you aren’t filming”. My sister proceeded to tell her that we were simply FaceTiming our other sister and even showed her, but she did not react. She then purposely spoke loudly with her colleagues in front of us, saying things such as how they would have to call the police if we were indeed filming. I would like to remind that specific lady that according to Point 11 of the House Rules of Brussels Airport, we, as passengers, are allowed to “take as many photographs or make as many videos as you like for your own use”. Therefore, even if we were filming, which we were not, this would have been perfectly legal making the unfounded threat to call the police absurd. This was supposed to be a relaxing moment after saying goodbye to a family member and this person completely ruined it. I would seriously question the staff who were active at 5 PM on October 10th as this kind of behavior towards your clients is simply unacceptable. We were simply 2 young girls who were obviously quite upset about just saying goodbye to a family member- exactly what was this person so afraid of and exactly why did she feel the need to be so rude and condescending towards us when all we did was read the menu whilst on FaceTime? There are certain ways to address clients and people in general; had this person asked us politely and without threatening to call the police whether or not we were filming, none of this would...

I came here many different times and the orders were always late. The staff mixes up your orders. The waiter brought me one plate when i had ordered many other things. The drinks are 5€ and when I ordered mine I had to come get it myself because they did not give it to us. Only the food is good, overrall service is terrible. I ordered a ham and cheese plate that is supposed to come with bread and it arrived with just ham and cheese and they told me I was “lucky” and that the bread today would not have an extra fee because she is “nice”. 44€...

Service: Let me add more stars here 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫🤩, very polite, very demure 😂😂😂I finally used that word. But yeah, the service was great.

Food: I had a muffin and a latte and both were good.

Atmosphere: I love plants even if they are fake😂😂😂. Any thing made with wood is always attractive to me. So a combo of plants and wood is something that would get 5 stars from me.

Suggestion: It would be great if there was some sensation of freshness added to the plants. I don't know how but it would be...
