D FAMILY CAFÉ — Restaurant in San Pedro Town

Our school mission trip included lunch at D Family cafe in San Pedro November 2023. The absolute best food we had in Belize. And the service and hospitality was un”Belize”able! There were 32 of us, varying diet concerns- carnivores, vegetarians, gluten free, dairy free, picky teenagers, you name it. D Family catered to all with careful planning and preparation. All was served at the right time, an incredible amount of food, at least 5 different tacos on my plate alone. Fresh ingredients, great guacamole, and we stayed for shakes and Frappuccinos after. Delicious food and very friendly staff. Was very busy for breakfast but we still got our food in good time. We got the stuffed fry jacks and coffees. One caution to Canadians, bring cash. It did not like any of our 4 digit pin cards, we tried numerous ones. The machine only allows you enter 3 digits. It did not accept the tap either. We had been a month in Belize and never encountered that anywhere else. Arrived at the restaurant a little after 10 am for breakfast before having to board a boat for an excursion at 1145. My girlfriend and I placed our order shortly thereafter. The restaurant was not particularly busy. After 35 minutes of waiting for our food, we inquired with our server for an update. We were told ten more minutes at 11110. At 1130, we inquired again and was told our order was still not ready. We decided to pay for our water and departed so that we wouldn't be late for our excursion.
