Would have loved to give a higher rating and truthfully, we were drawn there 3 times during our stay however, Krista, the owner, had such an off-putting look on her face each and every time! She looked positively miserable each visit and did nothing to invite warmth or hospitality. One time, she argued with her husband Rob at the bar for patrons to hear. He, in turn, felt it was acceptable to use the word f__k on a microphone right around 5:30 PM when naturally you might have a kid or two present at their crab races. Additionally, that evening she instructed a staff member to ask us to move from the bar to a table, presumably so we would order food? I have no idea. Another big turn off was when she was collecting her 'rezos' (reservations) on a clip board for Super Bowl Sunday and when we were interested in knowing more about the bar's plans, incredibly she turned her nose up at us as if we would not be welcome. BTW, the place Super Bowl Sunday was hardly busy. Anyway, it appears they have a good following. Food is average, at best. But, the owner's attitude was...
Read moreCrab Racing: Fun Adult dining experience. The crab racing event that we went to on Tuesday was a very fun time. We got there around 5:30 and got a seat at the bar. The tables are typically reserved on crab racing nights. So, get there early or make a reservation if you want to see the crab racing. Betting on a crab cost $5 bzd , but youâll need to get in line and come up with a name for your crab. Fair warning, owner announces throughout the night and can be quite crass. He will pretty much read ANY name you give your crab with few exceptions. There were quite a few kids there when we went, and I donât know that I would be comfortable with my kids hearing a lot of the names people come up with. But, to each his own! The winner of the crab race gets $100 bzd and the rest goes to scholarships and school supplies for kids on the island. We had a great time. Food and...
Read moreCRAB RACING EVENT- we arrived 5:30, got drinks at the bar with tab service, at 5;50 we were called to form a queue to choose a hermit crab, give our name and give our crab a name. To enter crab into the race was 5BZD. Organiser then calls out all the names (half child friend half very much not, parents be warned). They then release the crabs under a bucket and the first to leave the circle wins. They do 2-3 races and all proceeds go to charitable cause. Light hearted novel entertainment with good atmosphere
COSTS- Beer 7BZD, Cocktail 20BZD, Crab Racing 5 BZD for each race.
TOP TIP: If there is a group of you definitely recommend to book as it's very popular, bring cash for crab racing, constant explicit adult content names and jokes if that's not your thing
