I wanted to LOVE this place. Our neighborhood NEEDS a place like this to work. I was there opening night and I told myself I would make at least three visits before passing judgement. Restaurants have opening night jitters. Bugs take time to iron out. I have been five times now. I cannot recommend it. They have never impressed me or even met expectations. Out of five visits, food has been ordered three times. Every time there has been a mistake with the order, an item forgotten, the wrong item brought out, or just poor execution. Execution aside, I have no issues with what is offered on the menu, but is not worth the cost. $12 Grilled Cheese? You cant tell it from the kid's meal. This isn't Melt. $20 fish and chips? The sandwich at The Avenue is cheaper and for $3 more you can hit Cap City or for half the price go support Marino's. And lastly on the food, if you are going to promote the smashburger, it must in fact be smashed! Crispy edges and all. Undercooked beef hockey pucks need not apply! The two visits that were drinks only, we had a hard time finding a server while on the patio and had to go to the bar ourselves. I am fine with bar food and fried snacks, just pull it off and don't charge an arm and a leg. I don't want to hear "overhead and inflation" if you want to justify the prices, blow my socks off with quality! If something changes, my views will too. I want it...
Read moreFirst time visiting and won’t be back. We were in the area after a long day visiting a family member at OSU hospital and arrived just before 8:15PM (on a Sunday) to watch the first part of the football game. We grabbed the last two seats at the bar and were happy to see the game on all the TVs, but overall had a bad experience.
The bartender never asked if I wanted another drink after mine had sat empty for over a half hour (and finally decided I didn’t want anything else at that point). My husband ordered his last drink at 9:10PM and was told “that’ll be the last one” as the bartender already had the entire bar broken down. We double checked the website and door, which both said 10PM, so we were a little confused. Hardly a sports bar with that type of service and at least half of the 2nd quarter left! We left a 10% tip because we felt rushed and ignored.
When we left, we could see the bartender through the window holding up the receipt talking to another patron. So unprofessional and very unimpressed. We will try The Derby a few doors down next time we are...
Read moreLOVE this place! Excellent customer service. Kid friendly as they have games. The owners and staff are very friendly. The GM (Ronnie) is quite the listener and is open to suggestions to make the customers happy. Great place to watch sports as the bar set up is perfect for games (they will play the sound which is great).
For food: Highly recommend the B.E.L.T (ask for cheddar cheese and honey mustard), Smashburger, Chili Con Queso and chips, Chicken Quesadilla, Potato Soup, Waffle Fries, Hash-browns and Carolina Gold sauce if you get wings.
Would love to see some game day specials in the future as the prices are kinda high in comparison to other local establishments. Overall, this...
