My recent visit to Etta in Rio was, unfortunately, a dismal experience from start to finish. I was excited to try this restaurant based on its reputation, but my dining experience turned out to be anything but pleasant.

Upon arrival, I was seated promptly, and the atmosphere seemed promising. However, that was the only positive aspect of the evening. After placing my order—a simple chicken sandwich—I expected a reasonable wait time. Unfortunately, what followed was nearly an hour of sitting at my table, growing increasingly frustrated and hungry. The restaurant was not particularly busy, so the delay was both baffling and unacceptable.

When the chicken sandwich finally arrived, I was shocked by how underwhelming it was. The presentation was lackluster, and the taste was even worse. The chicken was processed and flavorless, and the entire dish lacked any semblance of the quality I had hoped for. It was clear that little care had gone into the preparation, making the long wait even more frustrating.

After enduring such poor service and an unsatisfactory meal, I brought my concerns to the staff's attention. I expected at least an apology and some acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Instead, I was offered a measly 10% discount on my bill, as if that could somehow compensate for the dreadful experience. The gesture felt more like an insult than a resolution.

Throughout the entire ordeal, I remained calm and patient, hoping that the restaurant would take responsibility and make things right. Sadly, that didn’t happen. The lack of concern from the staff only added to my disappointment.

Etta may have a good reputation, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend it to anyone. The combination of slow service, poor food quality, and inadequate customer care made for one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. A lovely bar located in Ipanema that offers a variety of foods to choose from and plenty of vegetarian options 😉

We opted for their burgers 🍔 which can all be switched with their veggie patties that are seasoned to perfection and made with aubergine 🥰 ! The patty is super crispy on the outside from the panko bread around and inside is nice and soft!

📸 “Uh la la” burger (6 euros) : This one was my favorite out of both 😍 The generous serving of sautéed mushrooms piled up onto the patty paired with Parmesan was amazing !
