This was my favorite cheap eatery in Ipanema! I enjoyed it so much that I visited twice! You can make this as cheap or expensive as you'd like. The empanadas are fantastic, especially anything with shrimp. Choose a shrimp and cheese one for your best bet. The escondidinhos are fantastic and could fill you up! The carne seca is great and keeps the heat very well. Anything fried here is a good choice. The drinks are a little generic so visit if you want to eat. Skip drinking. Service is hit or miss so that could be improved. Either way, you must stop by if you're in the area. Staff doesn't speak English, they do speak some Spanish, and credit cards...

Friendly staff, quick service and so many options - we arrived around lunch time - note: executive lunch only until 1530…

The “pastéis”, a type of thin crispy fried pastry, is an absolute delight, tried the “French” (Frances) which was filled with cream of prawns, and the Gorgonzola and mince meat! Fabulous both!!

Have mad them with lime Caipivodka -

My brother in law had the executive lunch, and my sister in law had the 4cheese, hubby had the “pastel de carne seca”, pulled meat filling.

Their lager is really good too!!!

Been in Copacabana/Ipanema area for 20 days and have been here at least ten times! Popped in for a beer, or a snack or meal and to watch football! Pastel are the best in Rio! Staff always welcoming with a big smile asking how we were, etc. Quality food, service and excellent value for money. See you next year!

29 sept 2025. Love this place. Popped in today for a beer. Four members of staff waved and welcomed us. Even gave us a free beer because they valued our custom. So friendly. Gives nice warm feeling. Choppe caneca and pastel...
