This place is a complete scam and tourist trap. Don’t be lured by photos of food which looks nice but is poorly cooked.
I ordered the roasted chicken for two which was cremated. The chicken flesh was almost non existent, and what was there was tough stringy chicken. Raised the issue with the staff who brought out another chicken in the same state - plopped on top of the now cold vegetables. They are clearly just reheating old chicken which is overcooked and dried out further.
I explained the issue to them again, and they shrugged their shoulders essentially. I gave them the opportunity to put it right but they weren’t interested. They took the uneaten chicken back to kitchen and they then produced a bill with the inedible chicken + service charge, which I obviously challenged - and told them to remove the service charge as well. They spoke with the “manager” — turns out she was the waitress who ignored me for 20 minutes when I was initially seated. The result - an offer to remove the discretionary service charge which I told them previously I wouldn’t be paying anyway. I was then asked if I wanted them to provide feedback to the kitchen - can you imagine? I was frank with them that I won’t be paying full price for this dish and they eventually removed it from the bill - and then stopped speaking to me completely. Incredibly unprofessional.
Perhaps the highlight of the experience - a gentleman was sat beside me who sent his dish back 30 minutes earlier. One of the other guests asked what happened and it turns out he was one of the owners of the restaurant - take from that what you like.

Read moreYES YES SI SI GO GO GO... this place is awesome. I initially was heading for next door, recommended by a website but saw this cute place instead (plus didn’t fancy eating a pizza).
As you know, I only write reviews of places I ADORE... and this has been fabulous from the immediate walk-in.
The ladies explained there were people waiting but I could wait or even eat at the bar... I was delighted because the barman is smiley and nice, and I’m outside without being “outside”.
My perfectly blended cocktail arrived (delicious) and with not too long a wait my amazing meal arrived.
TIPS: it was garnished with coriander (not my fave) so perhaps ask to not include but elregardless the whole thing was amazing and served on a pasta.
the menu was only in Portuguese so I just used my google translate app but the cute waitress offered to decode it for me.
def get a cocktail.
most people during the day were casually dressed (think flipfloos) but looked well to do and local - so I am guessing this is...
Read moreI had an unsettling Monday evening here. Despite the charming (if steamy) ambiance, the service seems to have imported an attitude. While I loved the refreshing cocktails, the main dish of ossubuco (veal shank) arrived quite cold—likely reheated poorly. I absolutely loathe to send dishes back, but it was off-putting and I feared had not been properly cooked. These mistakes happen, it’s not a big deal. So with profuse apologies, I asked the server if I could order something different. She called the manager (owner?) over for permission to replace it, who then seemed very visibly annoyed with my request. In fact, this manager would not look at or speak with me the rest of the meal. They did not even check to see if the replacement dish was ok (tho the lamb was warm and quite tasty). Even when paying the bill she said nothing and looked away. I was nothing but pleasant so I am honestly confused at what I should have done differently. Aside from shutting up and eating the cold meal, I suppose. Une...
