I spent a week in Brazil enjoying many restuarants. Brazil has ammaazing cuisine! For real. I tried a bunch of stuff from a 14 rei street chicken stroganoff which was the bomb to a 200 rei steak dinner. This was the most expensive dinner I had out there and I was not impressed.. I took a girl on a date here and bill was 360 lol. Prepare for 30 rei gin and tonics. Yea, the dollar is much stronger than the rei but, man this place is expensive. The portions are very small. It is fresh though which I will give them but, the service just was garbage. For the price these people charge, they should unroll red carpet to every table. You will want to change things up from normally eating steaks, I understand but, I would recommend checking out a different spot. If there is anything I would tell these people is for the price you guys are charging, your service needs to be much better. Also, for a restaurant to charge that much, you should have english speaking waiters everywhere. Not one person smiled at all or were welcoming. Much different from every Brazilian restaurant I went to. Giving it 1 star because its not worth what they...
Read moreAgain despite reading mixed reviews, I booked Sushi Leblon. First of all make sure you make reservations, we were fortunate to find availability.
The service is very lukewarm and for such a popular and busy restaurant, there is only one ipad available for customers to use to view the menu. There was one staff member who spoke English but appeared disinterested on assisting us.
We ordered the edamame, the hot quinoa rolls (lightly truffle salmon belly with crispy quiona). These were yummy.
We ordered the black cod drums (Black hake roasted in miso with crispy cabbage) and a spicy shrimp roll. Both were good.
We also ordered the black cod which was lovely and flaky.
For dessert we ordered the almond cupcake with lemon zest and white chocolate sauce. Delicious dessert and I wish we had ordered one each and not have to share.
We don't drink alcohol so our bill came to £75 approx.
The restaurant was very busy and had a good vibe to it, just the service let this place down and the reason for...
Read moreI came here because I was told it was the best sushi place in town. I went in the day as it was pretty quiet and easy to get a table. The evening before was impossible. They run a first come first serve system as far as I understand. I had the shrimp tempura for starters. This was very nice though the dip was lacking any serious heat. For mains I had salmon skin special - this was pretty crunchy and flavoursome. As expected. I also ordered the spicy shrimp. Initially this came out with avocado that was not ripe. It was tough and bland. The sauce again is not spicy at all. I sent it back. They replaced it. This took over 10 mins to come back as they served other customers first. The replacement was better. Overall decent. But have had better sushi in Rio. The other thing was there was no consistent waiter. The one who initially served me was pleasant. The one who brought the replacement strolled towards me like I was a troublesome customer and made no apology. The waiters were generally...
