Zero star experience.

Terrible experience at this temakeria. I brought my father from Australia to try the sushi because I heard people saying the food was good.

Unfortunately, we didn’t even get to try the food.

We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for a table. There were empty tables outside but we were told we couldn’t sit there because “only one waiter was working” and if we sat outside, it would “overload him.”

After waiting all that time, two ladies arrived with priority seating and were immediately seated, and then a couple who had been waiting less than 30 minutes was also called before us. At that point, we complained because four people had already been seated ahead of us. We asked if they could at least put tables together. The girl outside said she could ask the waiter inside to try serving us outside. Then, to make things worse, the waiter showed up bringing plates to where we were sitting on a BENCH outside by the entrance.

Absolutely unacceptable. Completely disorganized and disrespectful to customers who had been...

Interesting restaurant: good location, great staff. Very nice employees and went out of their way to accommodate me.

Not so sure they are a ‘traditional’ sushi restaurant. I’ve eaten in many, many sushi restaurants in Brazil, this one was different.

Everything came out all together: Miso was very cool and didn’t have any seaweed. No spoon, so I eventually got a tea spoon, certainly non-traditional. Bland, but had a few sliced scallions (same ones used to garnish the combo plate.?) What sushi restaurant the world over doesn’t serve ginger and wasabi? Ever heard of that one?

Edamame was good. Love the coarse salt!

Combo plate was ok. Sashimi tasted a bit off, only ate a few pieces (hope that doesn’t come back to haunt me!)

Took two tries to get a gin and tonic, which came out almost at the end of the meal) but was perfect.

Too many other sushi places in Rio, I would...

DISGRACEFUL place! We were blatantly scammed! We came with our family for dinner and ordered the standard menu — 150 reais per person. We agreed with the waiter (his suggestion!) that we would be served a bit of everything. First, they brought out some appetizers… then our waiter disappeared. And instead of the main dishes, they brought us the same appetizers again! NOT A SINGLE main course was served!

We called another waiter — waited over 20 minutes — and repeated our order. He confirmed everything… then vanished too! When the food finally came, it wasn’t even what we ordered. And the desserts? Never showed up!

In the end — we left hungry, frustrated, and completely disappointed. The evening was ruined, the mood was ruined, and our money was wasted. This is pure fraud and total disrespect for customers.

WARNING: This place is a SCAM! Don’t make the same...

Perfect for when you are in the mood for Temaki or looking for a decent all-you-can-eat style sushi buffet. Temakeria e Cia offer Temakis in two different sizes. We ordered the largest Spicy Tuna Temaki and it was the biggest cone I've ever seen. The tuna was very fresh and also correctly spiced. The spice was mild enough so that you could add wasabi and make it very hot if you wanted, which is what I did. The rice worked well for the Temaki, but sadly it didn't work as well for the sushi, which overall was tasty but not enough to qualify as amazing or mind blowing. It was kind of a let down that they didn't have any of the two drinks we wanted, although they were on the digital menu, and ended up going for the house tea, which was OK, but nothing special. I can see myself going back for the Temaki and maybe, if I'm very hungry, going all-in for the sushi buffet.

Very very long wait for a table, although they send you a link to let you know how far along you are in the queue, they underplay how long it will actually be (we were told 75-90min and it was over 2 hours, and by then the restaurant was half empty which had us scratching our heads). The sushi however was overall very very good and very nice presentation. Make sure you do not end up inside upstairs as the vibe there was totally different and quite dreadful with no music, but downstairs and outside things are quite cool so perhaps. Was it worth the wait? Probably not on taste alone as there are many other great sushi spots in Ipanema, but with a reservation yes absolutely.

We had the rodízio (all you can eat) - you can either select your own dishes or tell the waiter what you like and he will bring a suggested menu - we did the later. The dishes were delicious and creative - the winners were the white fish carpaccio with Parmesan cheese, the salmon maki with strawberry on top and all the hot rolls. Dessert is also included in the rodízio - the banana flambada was tasty. There are some tables outside which are pleasant to sit in and the restaurant seems to be taking all the covid measures seriously. The service is also one of the highlights - very attentive and polite.
