Everything about this place is 5⭐️! It is, by far, the best restaurant we went to while in Campos do Jordão.
My son has an extreme egg allergy. We were in Campos do Jordão for the first time and noticed not a lot of restaurants we went to could tell us for sure if they knew if the items they served had egg in them or could have cross contamination, so my son was basically just eating apricots the whole time.
When we walked in to Restaurante Alquimia we knew we were in the right place. It’s inside a beautiful hotel, which we would definitely stay at next time we are in town. The man at the front desk greeted us and showed us to the restaurant. We got there right when they opened for lunch. The server at the restaurant was very knowledgeable about allergens and especially the egg. He was very clear on describing their techniques etc. We were so happy that we didn’t have to worry about our son grabbing some food off the table that could give him a reaction. We ordered the gnocchi, the quiche with a wonderful salad, the rice balls, and a rice and beans dish with jack fruit and plantain that I can’t remember the name right now. These dishes were all absolutely impeccable. The presentation was beautiful, the flavor was incredible, and the portions sizes plentiful. We were happy we had enough to take some with us. We wish we were in town longer so we could have tried many other things on the menu that looked good. My wife even said she would be willing to make the trip all the way to Campos do Jordão again just to eat at this restaurant.
My hat is off to the chef and to the staff of this fine establishment. I come from Chicago and I have dined at some well renowned restaurants, and I can tell you with no hesitation, Restaurante Alquimia deserves a Michelin Star! I hope they are recognized for their...
Read moreI went to this restaurant a couple of times.
The vibe in here is pretty nice - the service is exemplary, both times I went I really liked their service and, in particular, there was a young gentleman assisting me on my second visit and helped me choose food and drink - he also spoke good English!
Coming to the food, it’s nice but doesn’t taste as nice as it looks. On the first visit I had the Feijoada - the bean stew was nice and hearty, and the salad was particularly refreshing. On my second visit, I had the pumpkin soup which was great - no complaints.
Their Brazilian red wine is really really good (surprisingly, vegan). I would have happily had more but I didn’t want to get drunk😂
Wish them...
Read moreI used to think of this restaurant as really good, but the last few times I have been there, I found it was lacking taste. Lots of uninteresting options, too much soy byproducts. Also the service is not good. There was one time I went there to have dinner, a really important one and we felt the whole time the waiters wanted to quick us out as soon as possible but it was early and hours before the restaurant was...
