Che Bárbaro — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

Been here several times during my visits to São Paulo and this place never disappoints. My latest visit was two nights ago and the had quite the party going on in the area downstairs by the entrance.

We opted to go upstairs for a little peace and quiet while we dined. As always, we started with an appetizer of carne empanadas and they were excellent as always. Definitely a must try.

The prime rib was different than I expected. It was not roasted and then sliced but rather a good size rib steak that was grilled and sliced before presentation at the table. The flavor was tip-top and very filling. My dining companion opted for the filet mignon and it was excellent as well.

Fomos hoje ao restaurante Che Bárbaro-vila Madalena comemorarmos o dia das mães. Liguei no restaurante dia 02/05/19 para perguntar se fariam reservas,o moço que me atendeu disse que geralmente ,aos domingos,eles fazem reservas,sim.Porém,por ser dia das mães, não fariam reservas.Ainda perguntei o horário em que abririam para chegar cedo e não precisar esperar muito. Chegando ao restaurante,este ainda vazio,um senhor (creio que seja o dono), perguntou se eu tinha feito reserva e eu expliquei o ocorrido acima para ele.Ele grosseiramente,me disse , apontando para o papel com os nomes das reservas: como não fazemos reservas??O que por acaso é isto aqui? E eu expliquei de novo q havia ligado e que haviam me dado esta orientação. Grosso, falando alto,nos tratando mal,falando que não discutiria...mandou uma garçonete nos colocar numa mesa quase dentro da cozinha. Não queria mais ficar ali....querendo ir embora para outro restaurante...a garçonete conseguiu uma mesa no andar de cima. Ficamos,pois minha sobrinha já estava com fome...e a sorte desse senhor é,que diferentemente dele,o restante da equipe do restaurante é extremamente cordial. Enfim...fiquei e deixei pra lá...para não estragar o dia das mães da minha mãe...mas,a comida desceu-me torta após...

After six years, I went back to the restaurant, and things had changed. Portions were well served, and service was more attentive. The biggest deception? The provoleta!
