1 service:The service was amazing. No wait to be seated. We had reserved a table inside but since the weather was nice we asked to be moved. Happily accommodated us. Got our menu when just seated (an exception in Bulgaria). Feels like a new generation of serving style is coming to Bulgaria and what a breath of fresh air. 2 food and drinks: We ordered cocktails and salmon bagel and burger. 26 lev for a HUMONGOUS burger. And 19lev for the baggel, also very big. The quality of the food itself is more than acceptable (have eaten for more and less quality a lot of times in this country). Fries were crunchy, fresh pepper and salt was provided. We did have to ask for hot sauce but it was high quality (locally produced one, and the brand I buy for myself -chilly hills-). My only tips/advices (as a chef) lower the quantities by 1/5. Did not see a salad or fruits on the menu. I would have lowered a tad the amount of cheese in the baggel and the onions confit in the burger. (It made it a tad too sweet for me, but mixed the extra with the fries.) would have loved (again) a salad or fruits. Got some freshly pressed orange juice but a smoothie would have been great. Final advice for customers : go before they apply (if they ever do) my advices. You will leave with you belly and your wallet still full. Drinks are good and experience is enhanced by the impeccable service (for bg standards) Advice for the restaurant: lower the portions a bit, we could have had space for dessertr. Add a fresh option on the menu and maybe another soft fruit drinks (frozen berries make great economic smoothies you can make into cocktails easily for low effort). All in all great experience,...

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing! Mainly because of the hostess. Her attitude came across as unwelcoming and unprofessional. From the moment we arrived, she seemed irritated, made no effort to communicate, and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. If the job feels that difficult, it might be time to step back — guests are coming to enjoy a meal, not to deal with negative energy.

The food we ordered didn’t match the price or the expectations. There are better options in the neighborhood in terms of both taste and service.

To be fair, the waitresses were kind and attentive, and I appreciated their efforts. But the overall experience was overshadowed by the poor reception at the front. Management should seriously rethink who is representing the restaurant to guests — first impressions matter, and ours was not good.

The terrace was hot and uncomfortable. I’d strongly suggest investing in some fans or a proper cooling system. It’s difficult to enjoy your meal when you’re sweating in the heat.

Lastly, I’ve noticed that some responses to reviews appear sarcastic or dismissive. I hope that won’t be the case here. This feedback is honest and based on a real experience. Please take it seriously , hospitality is about welcoming people, not defending poor behavior.

Very disappointed overall. I won’t...

I f you are in Sofia and looking for an exceptional dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you step inside, you are welcomed with impeccable service and a warm, inviting atmosphere that elevates the entire experience.

The food is nothing short of extraordinary. The freshly baked bread alone is incomparable—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and bursting with rich, artisanal flavors. Each dish is beautifully presented, resembling fine dining artistry, yet the portions are impressively generous. The salads? Simply one of a kind—fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced in flavors.

But what truly sets this place apart is the depth and sophistication of its flavors. Every bite is a testament to the chef’s mastery, combining high-quality ingredients with creative culinary techniques. Despite the refined taste, the restaurant ensures you leave fully satisfied, making it a perfect balance of elegance and abundance.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor in Sofia, this restaurant is an unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an incredible meal—phenomenal in every aspect! Absolute gem, my...

A standout culinary destination in Sofia with a modern twist. During our visit, we enjoyed the turkey schnitzel and potato gratin with mushrooms from the lunch menu. The schnitzel was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, while the gratin was creamy and flavorful. We were complimented with a glass of prosecco and homemade sourdough bread. Everything was delicious! The menu is thoughtfully curated. The day we visited there was a lunch menu until 4 p.m. and then after 6 p.m. there was a different(dinner) menu which indicates that everything is prepared and served fresh. The ambiance is modern and inviting, and the staff provided excellent service. Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a coffee and pastry, Balkan Falsch is the place.

The place is really cosy and you feel like home. The welcoming is warm and personal which definitely gives a good and special feeling since the first moments in the restaurant. It works as a coffee shop, a brunch place, a bakery and a restaurant! The atmosphere is great and traditional Bulgarian motifs are applied to the design of the place, the menu and the wine list as well. The service is good. The waiters are friendly. The menu is very interesting and delicious. The bread that is offered is simply amazing. I definitely can recommend this place and I will be definitely visiting it for not only business dinners but also to try the brunch menu and the bakery as well! Thank you for the good new place in town!
