We stopped here twice during our visit in Sofia. First time we tried the cold brew, which was nothing less than a normal cold brew, however, it somehow seemed to have been brewed from a nuttier, kind of heavier, more espresso like coffee batch then what I am used to when it comes to cold brews (I am used to them usually being more fruity and flowery in taste, if you understand me). This, of course, is just a personal remark, and is by no means a reason for any kind of worsened review. HOWEVER, our second visit was a rather unpleasant one. Read moreMartines is a standout Bulgarian family specialty coffee roaster. The husband-wife barista and roaster duo bring exceptional energy to the place. Their deep knowledge about coffee fermentation methods, farms, competition, and the coffee community is truly engaging.
I recently had a Wush Wush varietal that would have been hard to find somewhere else in the world. This black honey-processed coffee, fermented with rosemary, delivers mild blueberry fruitiness with lingering herbal notes. Another excellent choice is the Javier Jimenez Lasso, with intriguing tequila notes. But you can’t go wrong with any of their coffees because there is such care and interest put into them.
Stumbling upon Martines has been a delightful experience, and their exceptional coffee makes me look forward to my next...

Today I started with an espresso and was immediately convinced. You can feel and taste the high-quality products. On my next visit, I'll continue to test my way through the menu.
