In short: the restaurant looks great, but there is timing issues with the dishes. בקצרה - מסעדה מאוד מפוארת, אבל האוכל בינוני ויקר. החברים התלהבו מהסטייק חזיר ומהמוסקה. The food is medium in taste, don't come hungry. We came as a group of 5 friends for dinner at the Shtastlivetsa. For starter, we ordered - 1. Baked Brie cheese in pate sucreewith creme Patissere, forest fruit jam and almonds - amazing dish! A must... 2. Tabule salad - not wow... 3. Chuski Burek - stuffed red bell pepper with cow cheese and truffle - very tasty :) For main dishes, we ordered - 1. Salmon fillet in coconut butter, with black rice and green beans (fitness dish) - the salmon was dry, the rice was tasteless. (I added baked garlic potatoes). 2. Pork steak - very good dish. 3. Lasagna with spinash and Quatro formaggi - big dish, very salty. 4. Oriental lamb and beef moussaka - great dish! Very recommended. 5. Adana lamb (kebab) - great dish! Very recommended. The restaurant suffers from timing issue, only the starters were served together, and on time. The main dishes were served with 10-15 minutes gap between each other. The pork steak was served 80 minutes after we ordered it (!!!). As a compansation, the owner gave us a plate of desserts. For real - is wasn't tasty. I recommend you to have your dessert on 'Laguna' pattisery, 50 meters from here (1 minute walk). The total check is 220 bgn, without tip.

Shtastliveca Restaurant has an absolutely gorgeous interior with vintage decorations from Europe of the 1930s. This fine dining establishment had an absolutely huge menu and offered a refined take on Bulgarian dishes. Not quite knowing how to choose, we went with two “traditional seasonal dishes,” starting with the popular Oriental Lamb & Beef Moussaka. This baked casserole was presented in a round cylindrical shape and featured a bottom layer of minced lamb and beef topped with a layer of eggplant and potatoes mixed with béchamel sauce, all topped with a dollop of feta mousse and served on a metal plate surrounded by tomato sauce. The presentation of this dish was super creative, and the flavors were simple yet tasty. Next, we had the Pita Kebab for Sharing, and this consisted of a long flatbread (with a crispy grilled crust) topped with a sautéed mixture of pork neck pieces, sliced Petrohan sausage, beef meatballs, onions, peppers, and eggplant, all topped with a dollop of yogurt. The sauté was a bit on the greasy side, but the flavors of the meats and vegetables were on point. Overall, while the service here wasn’t particularly attentive, the food was beautifully presented and tasty, and the stunning setting was a real highlight!

2/5 for the inaccurate menu in which the dish described did not mention having liver cubes in the rice! In side and outside seating on a pedestrian boulevard. Inside is a mix of odd seating and tables almost like in an interior store. Massive upside down flower display the middle. There is a first floor for dining. Service was fast to take orders. Description of meals on menu inaccurate as it did not say anywhere in my dish that it had liver- I can’t tell you what type of liver! Was recommended the lamb dish the Sbordzhijski oven baked lamb of 450g with drob sarma rice.It was an odd dish to say the least as the drob rice had liver in it which tasted awful- with a cheese disk in the top which tasted like burnt cheese. The gram-age of the lamb was definitely not 450g. Took about 30mins to arrive in a very large over grill based dish. Sauce was good but the lamb meat fatty and gamey. The One raw spring onion added the green to the dish. The waiter helped himself to 10% I didn’t object but seeing it was his recommendation, I should have! Also 60Lev for a main and a bottle of water would be considered pricey in Sofia!

This is a very popular place with a big menu and variety of options. Try the traditional dishes or seasonal specials. The spinach balls with cheese was really good, just the cheese mousse was a little too much. Would have preferred to get 3 balls with less cheese rather than 2 balls with soo much cheese. Portion wise 3 would be ideal as well. But got only 2. The traditional lamb kebab with homemade letunitsa comes with 3 pcs and fries. It's amazing. The homemade lemonade and fresh juice are also very good. Must try. The fresh juice again portion was very less only given with less than half the glass 🍷. It was too little for the child as it's easy to have and felt insufficient. On the other hand the lemonade and other drinks are fizzy but given with a full glass. Ambience is very nice. They have 2 floors for seating. Service is quick. Staff are very efficient and helpful. Overall taste and quality is amazing. Portions can definitely be bigger. This is must try place in Sofia.
