I am a regular visitor to this restaurant in Bassac Lane (7 or 8 times at least, 3rd time this week). But tonight was the most disappointing and had it been my 1st visit would probably not have returned. Why? The staff were completely disengaged. They made zero effort to connect with me the customer. They had no energy or smiles to share and no excuse as the place was empty (other than owners and friends). Its a bit like an airline you have good crew whom connect with you and you have those that are completely switched off and have no interest in providing a superior experience. I still gave a 4 star rating because of the 7/8 times i have visited previously that would be the average. But tonight would have been a 2.5. I hope the owners/management take note because if this is not an isolated case then customers will not come back especially in a market such as PP that is saturated with high quality...
Read moreA couple of friends recommended this place, and although we've only visited about three times, it's well worth passing on that recommendation! The burgers are really good, as is everything else we've tried. They're real burgers, not the thin smashburgers that are so popular in this city! They also cook them the way you want, medium well in my case. There are happy hour delicious cocktails, as well as well as weekly/weekend specials. This is a classy place. We were comfortable as a casual family of three out for burgers and fish and chips, but it also caters to well-dressed people who are there for fine wine and higher-end meals. The service is extremely professional, including the bartender, who carefully measures the drinks. Management is also very guest oriented and accommodates some special requests. We're looking forward to eating our way through the menu...
Read moreI’m glad I discovered Abode, despite its somewhat tricky location. I tried the $3 happy hour drink, chicken liver pâté, Kompot crab cakes, and Cajun butter steak bites. Given that nothing on the menu costs more than $9, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions. One person can't tackle three appetizers alone—bring a friend! The steak bites were exceptionally tender, the crab cakes were huge, and the chicken pâté was perfectly balanced, not bitter or sour.
I returned later for a cigar and the Peruvian chicken, both of which were fantastic. They also serve all-day breakfast, adding to their comfort food appeal. The value and execution are impressive, with decent service to match. Just make sure to place your happy hour orders before it ends, as the POS system is strict. Overall, Abode is an excellent restaurant deserving...
