Understated, casual but highly delicious seafood restaurant. Cash or credit card (and probably e-wallet) payment options accepted. Some English spoken.
Seafood is king here and aside from desserts and sides like french fries, you can't avoid it (and really, why would you want to!?!?!). A variety of shellfish, fish, and squid predominate the menu whether served separately as grilled items or incorporated into sandwiches or pasta. Smoothies, juices, coffees and teas round out the drinks options in addition to some cocktail, beer & wine selections.
Food service is surprisingly quick and hot. The grilled squid baguette was much larger than I anticipated. The squid was perfectly cooked to buttery perfection - not tough and chewy in the least. The baguette was fresh and pleasingly crunchy with every bite. Miniature sweet pickles were served on the side, along with a small serving of french fries along with garlic aioli and ketchup. While I would have preferred the fries a bit more crispy they were tasty. The crab sandwich is reportedly quite delicious as well.
Pesto seafood pasta was a healthy portion filled with shrimp, clams, and squid. The spring rolls were firm and beautifully presented. The mackerel green apple salad was also delicious, with a light creamy sauce and large chunks of warm mackerel. Clean drinking water included...

We had dinner at NESAT Seafood House and it was one of our favorite meals in Phnom Penh. The restaurant has a laid-back, comfortable atmosphere—nothing fancy, just well-designed and inviting. The service was friendly and efficient without being pushy, which we appreciated.
We ordered the clam dish with basil, mussels in garlic, and grilled squid, and all three were excellent. The clams were especially flavorful, with a good balance of spice and herbs. The mussels came in a rich garlic broth that was perfect for dipping, and the squid was fresh and grilled just right—tender with a slight char that gave it depth.
To drink, I had the margarita with chili, which was surprisingly balanced. It had a solid kick, but not in a way that overpowered the drink. It paired really well with the seafood and added an extra layer to the meal.
NESAT does a great job of focusing on what matters—fresh ingredients, solid cooking, and good service. It’s not overhyped or trying too hard. If you're into seafood and want something casual but done well, it's a spot worth checking out. We'd definitely go back next time...
