This was an incredibly disappointing dinner out for both my husband & I last night. Due to the intense heat & LONG 9 hour drive, we decided to stop at this restaurant to have dinner. After making a reservation to ensure we were able to get a booth due to my husband's broken tail bone, assuming all would be good apon arrival. Get to restaurant & taken to table (not booth) had to then go back & wait another 15 min because whomever took our reservation did not add our request (even though I confirmed this information 2x's during telephone call)

After we were seated, everything was fine until our food arrived. We ordered 1 appy crispy mozzarella triangles for $8.95. Main course my husband order the "chicken alfredo with mushrooms & mascraphone cheese ravioli with minestrone soup" I choose the seafood fettuccine alfredo with penne noodles. My side was a caesar salad for $2.50 extra

So the first issue was the drinks came warm, not cold. (we did not complain)

When our mozzarella triangles arrived there was only 7 "VERY small" pieces & they were not crispy. (We did not complain)

The bread they were giving us was soft on outside, not crispy like usual. (We did not complain)

My ceasar salad that we paid an extra $2.50 for cam out warm & limp with hardly any dressing. I had maybe 4 bites (We did not complain)

When our pastas arrived my husband's only had 5 ravioli in dish with very watery sauce & mine was ok, but very watery. (We complained) We call the restaurant manager who is new over to the table & said to her "Ma'am, this is a $20 dish & this is all they put on the plate" her response was " this is our normal amount" then gave me an attitude when I stated the plate is 3/4 empty, so hardly normal. She took the plate back to kitchen to be replaced, leaving my dish on the table to get cold as #1 I'm not going to eat my meal while my husband waits for his & #2. I was waiting for fresh parmesan for my pasta that was offered but never came! We ended up waiting 20 more minutes for his dinner to be returned & at that time I had to ask for the parmesan & another bread because we were being avoided at that point. When manager returned with my husband's meal she seen me taking pictures of our plates & was sure to tell us that EVERY meal is weighed, so the correct amount was on the plate. I did end up taking my meal home based on the food temperature & I was not in the mood to deal with her or anything else at that point.

We understood that everyone & everything was working double time to pump things out & the bar girl/waitress said she had to run to gas station because their ice machine just wasn't keeping up, air conditioning not working properly, very hot & humid in building, everyone was running around doing everyone else's job just to keep up...we understood that 100%

But.. we were very disappointed in the quality, quantity & lack of accountability on restaurant manager's behalf. She could have done the right thing & just apologized that we weren't happy, offered to correct it, used it as a learning experience on customer satisfaction & moved on, but instead she left us feeling like she could care less about our business. In fact the whole experience felt like that to be honest. $100 + $20 tip & we left not ever wanting to return to this location. Very disappointed 😞

UPDATE Response from owner asking that we contact the restaurant via the email they gave us. 5 days has gone by since I sent an email the first time and still not one response so...

My wife and I stopped into the Old Spaghetti Factory in Sumas for dinner on Monday and the food was mediocre at best. The meals came with a warm 6 inch bread and a small container of garlic butter. The bread was large enough to warrant 2 butters, though only one very small ball of it was served. The starter salad was a typical mixed leaf with carrot strips and was very basic and small (quite literally a small side plate). I think the Patron would like to see it in a bowl and not on a flat plate. It looks tacky and is not easy to eat a salad on. Additionally, there were no tomatoes or other items that I could see to spruce up the "salad" a bit. We asked for a 2nd bread and it was super tough and was challenging to even cut into pieces. I ordered the Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce and it lacked flavour and body, it was quite thin/watery. Frankly, one could open a can of Ragu and add a little ground beef to it and have had a better sauce. I make my own spaghetti sauce at home and really wonder how it is that a pasta oriented restaurant cannot make a really good meat sauce, it isn't very challenging to do. The portion size was not bad but it felt like I got mostly noodles and very little "meat sauce". It would also be nice if they would have Parmesan Cheese on the table in a shaker so one could add more as desired. Having the Server do it is kind of uncomfortable, especially if you want a lot of cheese on your pasta.

The server was very nice though and was doing her best to provide decent service. I may be wrong but the food had a feel like it was pre-made in a large commissary and the restaurant simply re-heats it. It did not have any substance that made me feel it was made fresh in the restaurant that day. I would not recommend this chain restaurant, it has definitely lost what they had...

First meal out since COVID closed everything down. It was my daughters birthday yesterday. Let her choose anywhere to go for her special dinner and this is what she chose, mainly cause she knew they do special stuff for birthdays. So I made a reservation and even mentioned at reservation it was a kids birthday....

Got to the restaurant and was greeted by a man training a new hostess. The man was stellar over the top super friendly to my daughter. Fast forward to our meal.... wrong salad dressing on my salad and was never rectified, my spaghetti had a good amount of water at the bottom of the bowl. My daughter asked for more bread that never came. Couldn’t even get a drink refill. I didn’t complain wanted my daughter to have a nice birthday meal even if I wasn’t impressed. And then the ice cream was coming and I was expecting some sort of acknowledgement from our waitress for the poor kid and nothing not a word at all. She brought us our bill and never came back for payment I ended up walking to the front to pay my bill and the lovely man training the new hostess happily helped me and as we were leaving made a point to look at my daughter and say happy birthday again. And as we walk out she says what did he mean again nobody even said happy birthday to me before he just did.

So as much as my daughter requested this dinner for her special birthday dinner there was nothing special about it and next year maybe we try to find somewhere that will make her feel special on her special day. Very disappointed as she’s seen many other people get sang to there etc for their birthdays and she was not sure why her birthday didn’t get any acknowledgement. We will do birthdays somewhere...

There is definitely a difference from location to location, not just in staffing but in food quality as well. Have visited afew old spaghetti factory locations Whistler, and Langley and enjoyed them a fair amount for a chain restaurant, but truthfully this location didn't live up to those past visits. Not to say the food was bad, it was pretty average, just some marked differences from what we had experienced in the past at other locations. Both my wife and I found our salads a ceaser and a garden salad to be heavy with an almost overpowering vinegar that we hadn't experienced before, the bread was not as hot and fresh as we are used to at a spaghetti factory and the butter was not the soft easily spreadable whipped butter that normally comes with the bread. The lasagna I ordered was nice and hot as usual when ordered so that was great, but I felt it was light on meat sauce and far too heavy on the ricotta cheese to the point the taste and texture was overwhelmingly ricotta cheese and not much else. Given the number of differences in food quality from our point of view I gave this location a 3 star review, however the staff as usual where very friendly and fast, the location is clean and well maintained and as I said the food wasn't bad, just not as we expected, perhaps on a future visit I'd try a different menu item and give it another go. Generally Old Spaghetti Factory is a budget friendly place to have a nice family meal..but since it's a chain not exactly real Italian food.

We have been to different Old Spaghetti Factory restaurants and we were never disappointed, but our first time here in Abbotsford somewhat did not meet the expectations. I would not say it was a bad experience since we had an awesome server, she was excellent but its mainly the food that was a bit disappointing. First off, the bread (which is supposedly one of my fave from the TOSF) did not seem very fresh, it usually comes out warm and light but it was more on the “rubbery” side almost and even the butter that came with it was more clumpy and difficult to spread not sure if its due to the texture of the bread too or what. The caesar salad tasted too sharp for me like it was too acidic, the vinegar taste was very strong, I never had an issue with a caesar salad :). My main dish was the Mushroom Alfredo Spaghetti it was good, again slightly different from the other branches but it was not bad. The atmosphere here was cozy and relaxed and most of the staff are friendly. Overall, I still like their all-inclusive deal, I will just probably try something else on my next visit.

I have not been to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Abbotsford for a long time and I did not recall having the best experience. That changed when I came back recently. When I arrived earlier than I would any other restaurant, I received a table right away. I took a bit to think about what I ordered, and I asked for the New York Steak with Fries, medium rare with a garden salad and the Summer in the City New York Sour cocktail. The drink was subtle yet flavourful in taste. The steak was fantastic; it had that barbecued taste while still being juicy. The fries tasted great and did not require condiments or extra seasoning while the sauteed mushrooms were pretty good. The complimentary bread was warm, fresh and crunchy and the garlic butter helped enhanced the bread’s palate. The restaurant’s aesthetic interior always had this antiquated yet sophisticated look to it. The service was very good, and they came frequently to my table. I really enjoyed coming back to the Spaghetti Factory after all this time and I do hope for the very best for this business.
