A friend and I rented unit #124 as a VRBO here for a long weekend. The unit is small, but plenty large enough for what we needed, and gave us a small kitchen, dining table and living area for less than we would have paid for two hotel rooms. As long as one is reasonably able-bodied and fit, the Canadian Rockies Chalets is walking distance to just about anywhere in Canmore, at least on that side of the highway. One night we walked to Goucho's for dinner and stopped at Safeway on the way back. Bear in mind, parking at the Chalet is very limited, the later your arrival, the less likely you will find a spot (and the more difficult it will be to maneuver in and out of any remaining spots). If you are a light sleeper with an early bedtime, be aware the walls are very thin so the fewer the vacancies (ie, weekends in the winter when units are full of skiers and probably any time in the summer months), the more likely you will hear footsteps and voices from adjoining units. But we enjoyed our stay here very much and would totally stay here again if we return to visit Banff, or Lake Minnewanka, or Lake Louise, or any other destinations in the Banff area again.

Location is great! Walking distance to everything! Rooms, for something that automatically charge you $150 cleaning fee, it should be cleaner. Also, for automatically charging $150, I shouldn't be required to empty my own garbage or load the dishwasher. So room cleanliness is so-so, so what's the cleaning fee for? Service, we rented a 3 bedroom loft, we assumed there would be minimum 2 parking stalls to be had. We didn't even mind to pay. BUT, calling customer service is a joke. Whoever helped us did not know anything about our questions. So we asked for the manager, 4pm, apparently there's no manager around at all. When we booked, we put 4 adults and 1 infant. My wife called about having a high chair, apparently they never have it. Either, maybe in the future, have it as an option or whoever we were talking to doesn't know anything, again. Again, great area! Room space is great! Rooms could be cleaner for something they automatically charge $150. Here's some pictures. Looks great, right? Sure.

The place was just as they described, and we had all the things we needed. The beds were comfy, and the condo had good supplies. However, parking is a bit tight, so be careful. There are lots of places nearby that you can easily walk to. But, I must mention, the train passing by might wake you up a few times at night, so plan for that. During summer, it can get really hot inside as there's no air conditioning. Also, reaching out to the management can sometimes be a bit difficult. Another thing to note is that the bathrooms in our rooms didn't have locks. On the bright side, there are many restaurants and food places near the chalet, so you can quickly grab a bite when you're hungry. The best part is the stunning view of the Canadian Rockies from the balcony. It's truly a sight to behold and adds a lot of joy to your stay. 🏔️🌟

The room was not clean, I had several black hairs, both long hair and pubic hair stuck all over the shower, dirt eand grime on the doors along the edge and around the door knob where people had obviously touched over and over. There were yellow drip marks down the walls in the bathroom that dropped down to the baseboard covered in grime. ||And Finger prints and hand prints on the walls. ||||Their covid/cleaning procedure is to provide the guest with cleaner and tell you to wipe down high touch areas. I didn’t realize I would be cleaning all high touch areas upon arrive, then the toilet (found public hair there too) and the shower before use. ||||This was an upgraded room which really doesn’t mean much of anything, it had three bedrooms with doors instead of the unit I was booking that had the master as a loft bedroom. That’s basically it.||||When I emailed about these complaints, my first email was ignored and once I emailed again the owner did come apologize and offered the cleaner to come in and clean it better... but I had already done that so we could use the place in the meantime. ||||They offered me a $50 discount on my next stay, and even stated in the email that this was their way of ensuring I return. ||||When I said I’d like the discount on this stay they simply said that’s not possible considering I already had a free upgrade and a $35 discount. ||||So I emailed again to clarify that I didn’t deserve a clean room because I had a discount or upgrade. I will only get a discount due to the lack of cleanliness if I choose to stay here again. ||||There are better places to stay in...

When we first discovered the Canadian Rockies Chalets, about eight or ten years ago, we loved staying here so much. The beds were so comfortable, the location is great - walkable to the Spice Hut, grocery stores and central Canmore - and we enjoyed the views of the mountains. However this hotel has now deteriorated so much that our most recent stay will be our last. There are so many options in Canmore that we do not need to stay somewhere with stained carpets, warped baseboards, worn-out towels, toilet paper so thin it’s practically see-through, dirt and scratches on the walls, and so on. The bed in the main bedroom has a squeaky shaky frame and the mattress itself is lumpy. Although the bed is king size, a queen size duvet has been put inside the duvet cover so that one person in the bed doesn’t get properly covered. How cheap! Most distressingly - there was visible mold on the wall in the kitchen and, to cover worn carpet on the living room, an area rug has been laid down which doesn’t fit the space properly and creates a tripping hazard. The current owners clearly just want to squeeze money out the place without putting anything into maintenance and don’t care about the comfort, health or safety of their guests. Do yourself a favour and...
