I hesitated to give this review because I was failed so completely it's hard to make it believable, but it is what it is. My goto place for latenight Chinese food has for years been All Happy, downtown, but last night I decided to skip the drive downtown, and try again (after at least 10 years break), this place that is 3 blocks from home. Firstly, the online ordering template was confusing at best and unusable at worst, so I called in directly. I explained the problem I was having with the ordering system, but was told to go back and try again! I asked why he couldn't just take my order over the phone, and seemingly irritated, agreed, but only after realizing i was going to pick it up, not needing delivery; he said, "Why didnt you SAY so!", like I was somehow at fault for something! I ordered Mongolian beef (allegedly spicy), pork dumplings, and a bowl of hot and sour soup. He handed me the POS unit to pay, and apparently it was waiting for me to input a tip amount so it wouldn't let me tap, until he took it back and reset it! I got home, and pulled out the dumplings to eat, and instead of the customary red vinegar these usually come with, there were 3 packets of soya sauce instead! These were otherwise fine, but hey, maybe they were purchased from Wing's!! The Mongolian Beef "stirfry", however, was watery, not spicy at all and tasted like it had 10 tbsp's of sugar in the "sauce." The "hot and sour soup" was equally as disgusting, watery, not hot OR sour, and the tofu wasn't even cooked!
I live less than 3 blocks away, and I...
Read moreVery disappointed with the food we received. We ordered sweet and sour pork, chicken chow mein, chicken and pea pods, chicken balls with lemon sauce, green onion cakes, chicken fried rice and Vietnamese spring rolls. The onion cakes and spring rolls were pretty good. The chicken balls were ok - heavy on the batter to chicken ratio but have had much worse. The rice was extremely bland and quite oily. The sweet and sour pork tasted nice but the portion small. The chicken chow mein was bland, noodles unevenly cooked, had NO chicken, and had a few HUGE pieces of bok choy, cauliflower and broccoli thrown on top - which made it look like a full dish but was far from it. The chicken and pea pods was horrible - they substituted the pea pods for green beans and threw in a bunch of carrots and three small pieces of chicken - we got a dish of beans and carrots. For the $85 it was not worth it whatsoever… small portion sizes, no meat in meat dishes, not providing the correct dishes, no quality control. I know our order was late (9) in the evening but no excuse for the...
Read moreRatings can be misleading!!! As a first timer, I confidently placed my order after checking the ratings and reviews. For the appetizer, I specifically ordered deep fried chicken wings with hot sauce clearly stated on their menu. However, I noticed a mixture of chicken thighs, breast and wings. Unfortunately, I don’t eat/like chicken parts except wings so my appetite reduced drastically after opening the plate. So I called to check if there was a mixup and I absolutely regret it because I felt like garbage after. I should have just tossed it out. They kept passing the call to each other without informing me so I had to repeat myself three times. The lady I spoke with was very impatient, she explained that the usually mix the wings with other parts. She just kept asking “so what do you want now.” I recommend stating it in the menu or informing the customers. Then, she said you want another one? Come pick up” and hung up after. If you value the whole experience and not just the food, I would highly recommend that you do not contact this...
