The Beaver Bar — Restaurant in Banff

This is a no-frills kind of bar—small, basic, and nothing particularly memorable. If you're looking for a fancy atmosphere or craft cocktails, this probably isn't the place. But if you're after a cheap bite and a casual drink, it does the job.

The food is simple and very affordable, which is probably the best thing about the place. Don’t expect gourmet meals, but the portions are decent and it’s great for a quick, budget-friendly stop. The drink selection is limited but reasonably priced.

Service was okay—nothing outstanding, but not bad either. The place was clean, though a bit cramped, and seating is limited. It seems to draw mostly regulars and locals, so there’s a laid-back, no-judgment kind of vibe. Overall, it’s a solid option if you’re in the area and want something low-key and cheap. We were staying in this hostel and didn't know until we got here that they had their own restaurant. Honestly didn't know WHAT to expect but only ate there on a whim as we were very tired from hiking.

That being said, WOW wow this place is absolutely amazing. We were hungry and tried many dishes and all were loved:

-Curry soup - I'm not a curry fan but my partner devoured it. -Hummus platter - super good hummus, super crispy slices of flatbread for dipping. -Poutine - Super crispy fries, rich gravy, plenty of gooey cheese. -Burger - Tons of flavor, very fresh. Their burger patty is a blend of something unfamiliar, almost spongy. idk but it was good anyway!

We were pleasantly surprised by this little bar in a backpackers hotel. We had just arrived in Banff and we were exhausted after driving all day. This bar was steps from our hotel so we decided to stop in and give it a try. It was simple, you ordered your drinks and food at the bar but it was really good. The drinks were cheap with $4 beers at happy hour. The food was good and the value for the price was exceptional. I highly recommend the fried cheese curds to start. I had the burger and my husband had the chicken sandwich. We both enjoyed our meal and would recommend...
